Yeah, I hate those mixed origin temrs in fantasy games, too. That's why I suggested Bullgor instead of Minotaur which I came up with 6 years ago and GW came up with 2 years ago.
Gor and its derivations fit well in my opinion. "to gore", you know. Ungor and Bestigor are very nice names, I think. Those two really sit well with me.
And old. At least early 1990s.

So at least the age fits. :D
No I really think more of Pan, Minotaur, you could throw in a harpye. .. not sure that I aim for the right corner of mythology here, though. You know. Hera's creatures.

Thinking about it, it doesn't fit with the warhammer story at all to have some Greeks jumping around in there. It's sad for the big Minotaur. Bullgor would be good for "a" Minotaur. I still think what to do with "the" Minotaur.

I call mine Taur, pronounced as English would ("TAWR"), but stemming from a hypothetical Dwarfish root "Tauer", pronounced German (similar to "tower" for the English speaking world).
My Taurs are not necessarily closely related to my Mongrels, the human-sized Beastmen, who are a recently devolved human race stricken with constant physical pain and rage
and secluding themselves as a people in the forests.
Taurs are a much older race who live in the far north, together with tribes of "Barbarians" as their much-appreciated elite warrior caste.

Well!!!! I was just making a stab at Admirals use of the word Beasties. It did make me laugh. I hadn't made that Bullgor connection before but yes, it makes sense.

You stabbed at me. My wife was now three times telling me I shall stop bleeding so much I would ruin the living room.

However I think what comes out of that is quite fruitful, so sorry, I will continue to bleed for a little while. :-)

Yes, it did turn fruitful. I will add, i didn't stab in jest. I can hear them scream "oh no it's the Beasties!"

Here's some cool art from Magic the Gathering cards. Maybe for regular Beastmen or Beastmen cleric/wizard

Cool! What license is it?
I definitely need a way to automatically make HQ art!
