Ah they're NPCs. That makes sense because the warrior is very weak and the princess is really strong.

I disagree about the alchemist. He's my favourite I think. I see what GK is saying about saving potions needlessly but the rule that unused spells can be used to replace potions fixes that by it not being a waste if you hold on to them and end up not needing to.

Another problem is what if you go through a series of hard levels where you need everything, then you just won't replenish your potions? Having potions is the bread and butter of this class in my opinion.

I meant spells, not potions.

I like it because it effectively turns the potions into spells. You can use three of them in total and get back to a full compliment, or use more if you need to and have to save spells in future quests when you don't have as many potions and it will be harder to save spells to get back to the full amount again. It's a nice mechanic.

Okay, I agree. The Alchemist can always replace any used tokens, but remember, a potion token can only be replaced if it has actually been used in the previous quest. There can never be multiple tokens if the heroes save any.

 It was better before. How about you can replace potions for a minimal fee but can replace one per spell for free?

It's nice and simple this way. Any used spells or potions get replenished, in the same way as a wizard's spells do.

Re: My latest new heroes

I have just finished writing up my notes for my Heroquest gaming session with my brother at half term in a couple of weeks. It required a new hero as well. Below is Kat the Rogue, based on, and using the figure of, the character in D&D's Castle Ravenloft. I have also included my notes. Totally irrelevant to anyone, but a glimpse, if anyone was interested, as to how I blend an ongoing campaign together and amend quests according to my taste and storyline. I was particularly pleased at being able to link in Balur, who, being discovered by Saracen's party, will be confronted much later by Crispin's (Wizard) group in my eventually written Wizard's Quest Pack. The Norscan is just a standard Barbarian. For Braska, see above. Eldred is a standard Elf who has previously completed The Frozen Horror.

Edit was Kat's final version after playtest and further thought.

Is that just a typo or am I missing a reference?

You will have to ask Dewayne Agin, as these are based on his Bright spell pack. Feel free to call it whatever you like.

Those Bright Wizard spells were based on the Advanced Heroquest spells for the Wizard. Most were named the same, unless they shared a name with a Hero Quest spell. The Flight spell only controls a monster's movement, which is usually away from the caster. The AHQ spell included a lot of fluff about the spell inflicting pain which the monster needed to escape by running away at full movement.

"Flight" as in "Fight or Flight", not as in "Flight of the Beheamoth".
