I've thought about a LotR themed HQ quest pack. I believe Maike has started on one once, with a watcher in the water and everything.
Elf = Legolas
Wizard = Gandalf
Barbarian = Aragorn
Dwarf = Gimli

A few specialized spells for gandalf perhaps instead of the custom spells. Nothing really new though, just the names and the quests. And of course actual LotR orcs, goblins, trolls, wargs.

Here is my take on Legolas. I tried to be true to the movies.

Elf
Movement - 3 red dice
Attack - 5 melee / 6 Elven Bow
Defense - 3
BP - 6
MP - 5

Special rules

Rain of Arrows: May fire once at all visible enemies. If they are still alive fire again. Repeat til everything is dead.

Sometimes I amaze even myself: If encountering a large monster such as a dragon or mammoth you can climb on top of it's head and shoot a single arrow into it's brain killing instantly.

Actually I showed this to the goblins in the Mines of Moria and they were pleased that I nerfed Legolas a little in this version.

Merry
Move: 1 red die
Attack: 0
Defend: 2
Mind: 2
Body: 2
Skill: yeah right.

Pippin
Move: 1 red die
Attack: 0
Defend: 2
Mind: 2
Body: 2
Skill: thick Scottish accent

Frodo
Move: 1 red die
Attack: 0
Defend: 2
Mind: 2
Body: 2
Skill: You have to re-roll every successful Defend roll until it is not successful anymore. Your stick glows blue in the presence of Orcs. Make something of it, goddammit!

Sam
Move: 1 red die
Attack: 0
Defend: 2
Mind: 2
Body: 2
Skill: When Frodo's mind or Body points reach 0, you may carry him without Movement penalty. Also, you're sheepishly gay and unhealthily in love with Frodo.

Gimli

Movement - 1 red die
Attack - 3
Defense - 3
Body - 6
Mind - 3

Special rules:
- For each quest completed you gain +1 to comic relief, but also -1 to relevance to the plot.
- If standing in front of a pit-trap another hero may toss you across by standing right behind you. This does not count as an action and is guaranteed to succeed.

because fraggle Gimli!

Gimli is the JarJar Binks of the LotR film trilogy.
