I have no problem (now) with firearms within HeroQuest (just so we still get our familiar blades and other things, but I'm picturing this...):

The Barbarian: The 9260 spring steel longsword.

Armory clerk: That's Italian. You can go single or double edge.

[hands him the sword]

The Barbarian: The Repeater Crossbow with auto-cock mechanism.

Armory Clerk: [hands him from the case under the counter] These are brand new; we just got them in. That's a good bow. Just touch the trigger, focus the red painted dot where you want the bolt to go. You can't miss. Anything else?

The Barbarian: Phased plasma rifle in the 40-watt range.

Armory Clerk: [annoyed] Hey, just what you see, pal!

The Barbarian: [looks around] The Battle Axe with leather braided handle.

Armory Clerk: You know your weapons, buddy. Any one of these is ideal for home defense. So uh, which will it be?

The Barbarian: [pointing the sword towards the door] All.

Armory Clerk: I may close early today. There's a 15-day wait on the blades, but the bows you can take right now.

[sees the Barbarian load the crossbow]

Armory Clerk: You can't do that.

The Barbarian: [cocks crossbow] Wrong!
