With the board squares making them a tad larger than the actual scale is a big bonus, as the furniture and mini's take up allot of space and moving mini's can be a bitch when you pick it up and you inadvertently knock over a piece of furniture or another mini.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Question for you all: How important is it to have NPC's standing behind shop fronts or stalls on tiles? Do most Game Masters just use a figure as the shop keeper, or do you require the shops, wares, etc to be visually staffed by an NPC?

Can you rephrase the question?

Sure, if you have a shop tile that you stand up to represent say, a butcher stall, do you want that tile to have a butcher shown in it too - or is just the shop alone suggestion to your adventurers enough? Does it look weird if you have lots of shops, but no-one in them?

Sweetness!
Now there needs to be a flaming ball of pitch ready to be lobbed in another version of this one. And another that is damaged beyond repair.

I would think that having no one on the tile would make it easier for when you need the shop to be empty. Have you thought about doing small tiles of random people who could be used as shopkeepers to be placed on shop tiles when needed?

Hmmm... I don't see it. Shouldn't the arm be longer and counter-balanced? It seems to pivot about the end, like a Crossbows & Catapults toy.
