Gee, it's been many moons since a post from me :o

I'm in engineering in Brisbane, Australia. We've been pretty fortunate so far. I've been working at home for 21 weeks (I know as I've been reading an Asterix per week ). I averaged over 50 hours a week for the first three months just due to where the project was at. If I'd been in the office, I think doing that would have been harder. It's been handy at home though as I've been able to do somethings around here that I'd normally try and do on the weekends meaning when the hours returned to normal, I've been able to spend more time with the family.

Covid hasn't really effected me as much. Work hasn't shut down for me or my girlfriend.
However it's limited contact with various players in my group, so I haven't really gotten to play much.

Asides from the Work is essentially forcing us to wear face masks, which hurts my ears. But I am looking into conspiracies on how they will and have been using this to further their agenda.

Work is crazy we are all in separate vehicles now with masks at all times in public.I've taken a promotion to permanent lead hand also see acting supervisor quite often.
I work in sewers and we do all the blockages, back ups and sink hole and sewer repairs, holes up to 30 feet deep. The repairs don't care about Covid we are considered front line essential service.
On the home front my son finished his first year of university at home via laptop.Getting ready for second year right now.
My youngest was at home with online schooling to finish grade seven with my wife. She is being homeschooled this year.
Things are busy and hectic at home never enough time to paint minis....lol
Hope everybody stays safe out there.

oh, my Goddess COVID has been one of the most important reasons why my boardgaming hobby has been taken to the next level. I have designed my own game and I have done a lot of extra material for my already existing games such as HeroQuest and Space Crusade. I study bgg and the appropriate facebook groups and get lots of ideas and ready things to copy off of other fanatic boardgamers.

For boardgaming this is a blessing, for humanity a curse.

Also, tho only place I have for myself is the painting table. That's where I work currently. Bad for the concentration indeed.

How can you get any work done with such a distractive work space :o

I got made redundant at a place I'd worked for 21 years. It was a blessing bcos I hated the place. So I've had around 7 months of family time and loved it, catching up on all sorts of things, plenty of movies and tv shows. I was due to start my new job 2 days before lockdown in the UK,so I'm off still until its lifted. I could do with Heroquest right now to entertain the family

Right before covid entered the scene, I was getting so fed up with the place I'd worked for 11 years that I quit, assuming it'd be as easy to get a new job as 11 years ago. Then covid came  Brilliant timing. So I've been between jobs since then, with lots of time to get stuff done that I'd been wanting to do for ages, which I've loved.

Sometimes I have a session of miniature painting with my brother who lives in another city, via video - so we can show each other what we're working on - it's great :D If any of you are up for some "covid-socializing" miniature-hobby, via video or sound, just let me know.

It hasn't really effected me. Much of the first lockdown was spent trying to keep my parents alive and well, a battle that was only half successful. I don't know anyone who has been seriously affected by Covid. My dad died of lung cancer with appalling treatment by the NHS. Thousands more people have and will be effected by cancer and heart disease than by covid, but no one seems bothered by that. Even to point it out is called heresy.

I don't want a Covid lifestyle, I want my old lifestyle.

I don't want the 'new normal', I just want normal.

In Heroquest the evil overlord and his nefarious minions who want to take over the world and corrupt it with chaos are always defeated.

Oh were it so simple :(

Sorry about losing your father. At least he had you on his side and no doubt appreciated it.

Is Hero Quest really so simple? We started with Morcar-89, and no thanks to Hasbro it quickly mutated into a UK variant that spread across Europe and to Australia. Then Morcar mutated again into Zargon-NA, with more deadly minions.

Though the HeroQuest bug generally affects older men most seriously, it can be easily spread at home to other family members, especially young children. Common symptoms include nostalgia, a loss of expendable cash, and a sore neck and eye strain from painting.

Recently, Hero Quest has changed yet again into the Avalon Hill strain. Though currently just a Pulse cluster, it threatens to spread to retail outlets, imperiling countless unsuspecting youth. Hero Quest will not be so easily defeated!
