Prospector tile upgrade attempt.

Postby Hero_Of_Retro » November 12th, 2015, 2:49 pm

So ive been learning to do tiles again, just in my spare time and learning to do various things for a new quest. So far i think after a few more attempts i may eventually have a nice collection to be in the final drafts to start one. Here is the prospector. Line drawing from a reference and trying to my best to not deviate from its original form. Painting it however is probably going to take a lot of retries. But as long as i keep trying who knows what i might come out with. This is a first draft off the new version. Added the oil painting effect and a little grain to match up with the original tile to see how the end result will be.

Get that free copy of photoshop CS2 forst if you haven't.
Don't use that grainy filter.
Use a higher resolution scan for the line drawing.
Try using layers for the colouring. Add a layer, retrace a field you want to colour in, fill that field on the new layer, use blending mode to place the colour over the B/W dwrawing. That way you'll fill the spaces in nicely without odd pixels near the black lines.

Hope that helps ;)
