Funnily, my girlfriend's reaction was the same as Dave's when I told her.

GW offers in their webstore a Dark Elf bundle:
6x 10 Witch Elves, 1 Cauldron of Blood, 1 Sorceress for 264 quid. That's right: twohundredandsixtyfour.

Now, why should I buy this huge bundle? Because I'd like to have a Witch Elf army or Witch Elves as the big honkin' core.
So, for a price tag and a sheer amount like that, there must be some kind of reward of a monetary nature, right? A volume discount, to call it by its true name?
There wouldn't be a reason for the bundle to be a purchasable item of its own in the first place, presented as the very first under the Dark Elf category, right?

Out of interest, I broke down all components.
1 box of Witch Elves is 35 quid.
1 Cauldron of Blood is 45 quid.
1 Sorceress is 9 quid.

If you happen to buy all these individually (6 times the Witch Elves of course), you pay GUESS WHAT!? 264 quid. That's right: twohundredsixtyfour.

See? THAT IS WHY I DO NOT BUY FROM THAT COMPANY !
Not only is almost every single price outrageous, they cannot even be the kind of salesmen so far as to give you a little discount for a large sum like that.
They could have easily rounded it down to 250 quid. That's a round sum (if still outrageous, mind you!), but not even that is possible, nosir!
See the salesman nature of the company? The absence of hobbyism? The complete and utter cold calculation?
NO DISCOUNT at a sum like that! I almost have not the words...

By the way. Not a single bit of that whole package is metal or even resin. It's all plastic.
Subtracting the cauldron's price it boils down to 3,33 pounds per plastic human-sized figure.

The latest products GW offers are indeed outrageously priced.
If you also look at some new models (which aren't that great to look at by the way) they are insanely expensive, yet they get sold out minutes after their release.
I also would never buy directly from their site, but I have bought some GW boxes from a local store that has an annual sale with prices going 50-70% down.
Other than that, only second-hand figures off ebay.

On a slightly related topic, their newest warhammer fantasy updates are horrendous. It's like they paid someone to make them having in mind how to destroy the hobby.
Their latest book is (purposefully?) called "the end times". Like "that's it folks, you've had your fun, warhammer fantasy is over".

Gotta agree... Those "bundles" are completely BS. They serve no purpose at all.
And it's not even about the price of the model, which YES is high, but the fact that they present it as a "deal".
No, it doesn't say anywhere it IS a deal or there is a discount, but the presentation implies there should had been one.

But god damn it, I really like the setting(s)...
