There are no stupid questions my late grandma always told me, so here goes:
How's your nickname pronounced? Try to explain in IPA transcription or try to spell it with English letter/sound conventionisms or just explain.

Because when I read threads and post, my brain reads nicknames out for me, but out of respect for people carefully having chosen names, I want my brain to pronounce them correctly.

Got it?
Examples:
For TMU I got the suspicion he wants to have it pronounced like when an American says his real first name Teemu, right?
Sjeng is pronounced Sheng, but that I only know cause I'm German and a little accustomed to Dutch pronunciation patterns (and because he confirmed it for me). For an English Native speaker withoug Skandinavian or Dutch ancestry that is a far-fetched pronuniaction of "Sj", I suppose.
Or, torilen... To-Rhye-Len or just Tory-Len? And where's the stress?
Daedalus... I know there are two valid ways of saying the name. Daydalus and Deedalus. Do you prefer one of the two?

So those of you who consider the pronunciation of their nicknames unclear in the least, explain please.
I will also ask people in PNs if it comes to mind and I can't find the answer here.

Also a useful information would be a preferred acronym. Mine's kk (not capitalized; that's reserved for Kellar's Keep).
The name is obviously no different in sound than nightcrawler.

Teldurn is pretty straightforward. TELL-dərn

Acceptable nicknames include Teldy (and sometimes Tel or Teld), but I prefer seeing it spelled out completely when possible.
NOT acceptable nicknames include Teldyweldypoo.

I think Sjeng as an extended S sound 'sss' then Jeng. But that's just me. TMU i jus say 'T M U'. Would be interested to see how other people propose theirs to be pronounced anyhow.

My uncle calls me TMU say moon with t, tmoon, and leave on away. Tmo(on).

I think that is the easy way to say it

But is it "Bahk" like Johann Sebastian Bach? Or more like "batch"?

Also I would probably pronounce Iven with a "hit" i, because thats how an "i" sounds like in Denmark. And how Ivan is pronounced at least...

I've only met 2 people named Iven and both were with an E. I just came up with the name a long time ago and have used it exclusively since then now.

TMU when I see Tmo(on) I think of Teemo from League of Legends. You're now classified as a yordle in my book now.

deadalus and patroclus are really simple I think (maybe I think that because I'm greek and they are greek names!)

Mine is pronounce tah-soh-eh. All syllables as flat as possible and the 'soh' carrying the most tone.
It's actually a mutation of my normal name which is Tasos.

It's a funny story how this became my nickname so I'll tell it here. This thread is ideal for people to say why they chose/have their specific nicknames so I encourage that as well.

My story goes back 15 years ago when me and my friends played football in a 5x5 field near my house (no less than 4 times a week).
The field was public so there was no fee and we played with all kinds of people through the years, different ages and ethnicities.
Among them, besides greeks, were groups/teams of albanians, romanians, serbians, turkish, polish, pakistanis, afghanis, one algerian fella, and a group egyptian guys.
The egyptians were great to play with, good dribbling skills and nice fair play in the game. But they had some weird pronunciations.
For some reason, every word they said ended with the sound "o-eh" and they included at least one "eh" in each word.
So some regular football terms for them, pass became "pass-oeh", ball became "ball-oeh", foul became "fah-oo-el" and out became "ah-oo-et". (in greek wording: πάσα->πάσοε, μπάλα->μπάλοε, άουτ->άουετ, φάουλ-φάουελ).
Me and my friends found that funny sounding so we starting calling each other using the same endings.
So I became Tasoe, Giorgos became Giorgoe, Giannis became Giannoe and so on.
Mine was the one that stuck the most so in no time my new nickname was Tasoe replacing my old one (it was Cheetah, cause I had a talent for climbing, when we were little and the ball was stuck in a tree or a terrace or somewhere, I was the fool that went to get it back).
My friends still used it today and I also use it in most internet sites as an account name.
