Perhaps you could coax your sons into painting your HeroQuest miniatures.

Convince your sons that they should paint your minis for fathers day or your birthday!
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

Actually... yeah. Father's Day. I hadn't thought about that.
Thing is... I actually used to love painting miniatures. I painted most of my youngest son's Necrons.

I burnt out on painting them. After a full set of the base system and a large amount of my old metal mini's and a bunch of knights from a 'bag o' knights' I am rather burnt out on the entire thing.
Except I don't have the archers and the standard bearers. Just a bunch of footman with maces, swords, battle axes and shields in full plate mail.
