StarQuest: german to english translation project WIP

So I've finally begun work once again on this, hoping to have something to show for it by the time of GenCon...

First task was to scan the cards I had in high quality and clean them up a little (while still retaining some charm of the "used" cards), while blanking them out in prep for adding the english text. Not perfect, but I think they will look fine when printed on US game deck size (imagining what they would have looked like had the game been released in the US circa 1991).

My plan is to copy and paste the image onto the generic card and overlay the text. But it will be something unique since StarQuest in Germany was kind of its own thing and thus differs from the english Space Crusade many more will be familiar with, even if the play mechanics are identical (the "Devastator" was clarified as a Plasma gun in this version that's the only update I've seen).

Events (note that I have still to add the cards from Eldar Attack, which sadly I was not able to get in German but have been able to work from photos and combine with my English scans)...

Alien events & equipment that have different images I will just overlay over the top half of these templates.

It's funny! I did it the other way around a few years ago and translated the original version into German! There aren't really big differences in the game! Most of the differences are the removal of the Warhammer 40k references in the Story and the censorship of the violence and that the weapons have been given more harmless-sounding names!

The cards look nice. Are you giving them the same size as NA HeroQuest cards? If released in USA I would bet they have had such size too.

That is the plan. US Game Card size (as printed by MPC/BGM) is 1 mm shorter on top than my classic NA HeroQuest cards.
