Zealot Miniatures dungeon doors and furniture

Postby DungeonDwarf » April 17th, 2019, 4:35 pm

Any of you out there using the Zealot Miniatures dungeon doors and furniture for HeroQuest/Advanced HeroQuest? If so, what size door to you recommend? I think I read somewhere that someone was using the double doors to prevent players from stacking outside a doorway to fight every battle. I know some of the doors have been out of stock for a while. I emailed the company a while back but got no reply. I sent a 2nd email today.
Thanks in advance for any replies or advice.

I know he is swamped with kickstarter stuff right now. You might get lucky if you send him a private message on this forum and he may see that sooner, but he is managing a ton of stuff as he is working to get the pledge manager out for his last KS. Thantos is his name on this forum.

Dullandrusty,
Thanks for the reply. I was just worried since they didn’t respond that maybe the company wasn’t in business anymore. Apparently quite the opposite is true if he’s so swamped with work. That being the case, I’ll send him a PM but I’m sure his hands are full (Which is a good thing). They seem to make good products that fit HeroQuest well and I want companies like that to thrive.

Thanks again for the reply my friend.

Eddy (Thantos) is just as into HeroQuest as any of us here at the Inn. It's great to support his store and his KickStarters. He usually will respond, it just may take time.

I have several of his furniture pieces and monsters but none of the doors. Most of the furniture is similar in size to HeroQuest but make sure and check the dimensions on the store to be sure.

You can take a look at my play by post game if you like.
My game "board" has 30mm squares. Normal HQ doors and zealot doors both fit very well. Slim doors are more for 3d dungeon builders. Double doors are perfect for boss rooms.

Thank you my friend, I will check that out. I am always looking to improve upon this game, while keeping the soul of it intact. Replacing the fragile cardboard bits with something more solid makes a lot of sense to me. Especially since I plan to play it with my children.

Also, FYI Zealot Minis replied to me today. Apparently their contact form on their website had stopped working but now it is fixed. Just thought I would share for anyone else who was curious why they weren’t getting a reply.

Heya :D Yea sorry for being AWOL for a while. Things are getting pretty hectic!
But good news is we are moving to a 2x size unit in a couple of months. Then more staff and more help and things might return to a sane level again xD

For doors, I prefer the regular ones for HQ. If you have 25mm 3d board tiles which need the door to stay inside the square, go with slim.
Or if you have bigger 30mm+ tiles and want something extra nice, extended would be cool.

Double doors change the game mechanics and allow using bigger monsters >=D
Good luck with the furnishing!

This is good information. I haven't yet bought any doors, but I'd like to some day and wondered about this. I thought slim might be better on the classic board to keep things cleaner, but maybe not.
