Greetings from Ontario, Canada!
Allow me to introduce myself:
My name is Dave. I played HQ like it was my religion when I was in grade 5 (I'm 31 now, so we're talking back when it was first released). I've played a host of other board and table-top games since then, and in my mind, aside from Dominion, nothing even comes close to the awesomeness of HQ.
Anyway, I have been planning to introduce my kids and some friends to the beauty of HQ, and all my original stuff is LONG gone, so I've decided to make my own HQ game from scratch. We're talking board, furniture, cards, minis, EVERYTHING! Luckily all those PDFs have helped with questbooks and rulebooks, but I'm pretty excited to model my own board and furniture, as well as design completely new cards (I really enjoy using photoshop). So I have started this project with the cards, of which I've completed a few already and am constantly working on, and I am a gamer that very much enjoys sharing what I do with others to freely use as they please. I figured this would be a good community to share my work with, but I just wanted to make sure that this sort of thing is acceptable.
Pretty much what I am doing is designing my own updated card templates and scouring the internet for artwork to edit and use for my cards. I don't own the rights to any of the artwork, and I'm not looking for any monetary gain from sharing my work. Is this something that you members of this community would be interested in? I wanted to get some feedback before I begin posting a work in progress thread for my custom stuff.
I look forward to some excellent HQ discussion and sharing of ideas!
Thanks,
Showdown35
It's like a new pair of underwear; at first it's constrictive, but after a while it becomes a part of you. I have to go...
