Just joined up and wanted to say hi!
My mom got me HeroQuest for Christmas when I was like 10 years old. I remember her saying at the time that a magazine said HeroQuest was in the top 10 list of board games to buy for "this holiday season". Played it quite a bit for a couple years after that, and then collected dust as it drifting from house to house for a good 20 years.
I've recently started playing it again with my brother and his 9 year old son. My nephew loves it, probably just as much as I did growing up. It's been fun seeing him enjoy it so much.
Though now I'm noticing some broken aspects to the game (player turns taking to long and to calculated, armor/weapons easily obtained early on leaving nothing really to buy later, wizard's somewhat ineffective role, etc.), which led me to this website. I've enjoyed reading the ideas on this site and look forward to implementing some of them next time.
Thanks to those running this website and the community involved!
