Hi, mako-heart.
When you post a reply, try clicking BBCode to the right, under the emoticons. It takes you to a tutorial on how to use editing features, including the Img button. Looking forward to those pictures- I like what I see in your avatar.

Howdy, just joined and I must say I love the site and all of the materials. Is the petition thing still going on?
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

Glad you enjoy the Website.

We've abandoned the petition. With all the other projects we've been working on, we never got around to it. Further, it is unlikely a petition would provide any results. Much of the artwork and the miniatures were licensed to Milton Bradley (Hasbro) by Games Workshop. As Hasbro now owns the biggest competitor of Games Workshop (Wizards of the Coast, who makes the Dungeons & Dragons brand), it is extremely unlikely that Games Workshop would renew any license of these materials. This pretty much leaves the retail prospects of HeroQuest dead in the water.

As a kid, I missed out on HQ because no one knew what I was asking for. There was a beat up copy in my after school-program, but the other kids stole the pieces and ruined the board with all manner of excrement imaginable. Of course HQ damn near vanished when I was up and able to find my own. Not long ago, I finally got a full set and fell in love all over again. This site is packed with all kinds of cool stuff, resources, and it really takes me to a place I used to wish I could be back in '91. I really appreciate the quality of work you all put in here! It really does the justice HQ deserves!

I consider myself very lucky to have grown up with HQ. It has always been there and I have returned to it many times whenever the HQ spell has been casted on me

Ah Dang it all I missed this game. I used to play it all the time as a kid. Bought a copy at a bag sale for less then a buck, then made the mistake of selling it for $10 a few years later. *Checks e-bay and cries*

I picked up copies of all the virtual heroquest games, except the NES version,( I will collect them all >:D) but they don't really match up to playing the game on a table. I also loved the game cause it was easy enough for people who never even looked at an rpg before to play. And it was structured just so I didn't feel guilty killing players off as a dungeon master.

I plan on getting back into the game soon but until I get some extra coin for minatures or a meriacle in the bargain bins it just ain't happening.

Although does anyone have advice for printing out the cards? cardstock doesn't hold as well as I thought it would :/

I would direct you to other places on the forum. I asked the same question and was given some great advice. I haven't been able to put it to use yet, but will eventually. See below for good info.
