Ye Olde Inn

As it turns out I picked up several rolls of Greenstuff and felt like trying my hand at sculpting. For my first I'm thinking of a snake and it seems Larson agrees.

I am by no means claiming that I'm of that caliber of sculpting yet, nor the sculptor. Just for comedic reference.

Does anyone have any pointers or the best way to start other than try it?

Edit: Came across http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/242387.page after doing a little bit of reading and figured the chain and seals would be simple enough for a non artistic type like me to actually imitate.

Three tips:
1) Have a bowl of lukewarm water handy. Your fingers, the green stuff, the tools go in there often.
2) Pick up tools. They don't have to be specific sculpting tools. An old knife or screwdriver or whatever have you might suffice.
3) Before you sculpt anything of any size, make up your mind if it has to be made from one piece or if you better put it together in the end from several pieces. In the latter case, use paperclips or wire to reinforce everything.

For unmixed green stuff how long will it last before it dries out in it's shipping tube? I have 4 rolls and will prolly transfer to airtight containers just in case. I picked up a set of tools just to have them handy. I should have my kindergarten scuplting time tomorrow with photos.

By all means, do that! Otherwise it won't take long for it to dry out. Sometimes you can save it by kneading with more water than usual.

This has already been established - if not by the simple fact that she actually agreed to marry Sjeng.

Anyone tried BeeSPutty? (Ampersand? Looking at you? )I was thinking to having a go with it since it looks quite fine and the oven baking part like Fimo so you dont have to rush against the cure time, sounds good too.

This is how it will be seen when the magnetics hold it closed. Need to bevel the edges down and smoothed out a lot...


When it opens the goodness comes spilling out. I was trying to think of what to write and this play on words works so much better than anything else I'll come up with. Still debating on what colors I'll use. The pen keeps smearing but I put it on there that way it'd give a visual of what it will look like when it's painted on (here's hoping it wont look really bad).

So yeah my greenstuff adventure didn't end up a total flop. Here's my lame barrel and companion crate. Greeny for size comparison.


Edit: Showed it to the miss's's's's and she loves it. I guess she's got bad taste well she did marry me so yeah...
