I had it installed on my laptop and it worked fine for some time, but now it won't even start. Reeinstalling didn't help. Now I gave a copy to a friend who tried to install it to a laptop, too, and he got the same problem, same error message and all.
What's the error? That's odd. I've been using it for work for the last four years on a laptop without major issues (just the usual instability) and desktops for ten years before that. I started using 3D Studio MAX 1.0 (used 1.2 for a long time until we upgraded 5 or something like that). At one point something wouldn't run (can't remember if it was Max or a plugin) but deleting the ini solved it.
