For the record, though, it would be no problem selling homebrew quests anywhere...as long as you follow the correct
copyright and trademark laws.

You certainly can't use the name heroquest, and especially the heroquest logo like this person did. I see that as asking
for big trouble.
No using the board design, or any of the names ever used in any of the games.

Basically, everything has to be your own, except the basic monsters, heroes, and stats and such...the things that make the
game system itself. Then you would be okay, I'm sure.

Because of nominal usage copyright laws (and also that you cannot copyright a set of rules) you can make your product "compatible with Heroquest," just so long as you do not use their trademarks. Trademarks are also never assumed, they have to be displayed with the superscript "tm." Seeing that Hasbro took the time to release the Heroquest documents online and for free, I doubt they'd give a crap about someone legally distributing compatible products. One of the biggest battles D&D ever had was when TSR tried to stop the Kingdoms of Kalamar product line. Read all about it on the Internet. I am too lazy to find a link. Also, porridge.

That's the whole point - who tried to enfoce their copyright on Heroquest? Is there actually a company/person owning them? MB doesn't even exist aymore - it's just a brand name owned by Hasbro. If some "copyright owner" sued HQFrance and got right in the court, then we would at least have a name to deal with.
