painted trade for unpainted

Postby Nephew of Mentor » January 26th, 2013, 6:36 pm

For reasons unknown, I prefer my Heroquest figures unpainted, but I purchased a WOM set with painted minis, some of the wizards are fully painted, others are just primed. I was wondering if anyone was interested in trading their unpainted minis for painted ones. I realize this is an odd idea and that I could easily remove the paint, but for some reason this seemed better. I might just be nuts, oh well.
Sure it's pretty scary when the witch lord returns but what you should really be afraid of is "Resurrection of the Witch Lord". Resurrected baddies always come back more threatening than ever, usually kind of demonic with wings and horns and hell fire to announce their arrival. Think Gannondorf or Mother Brain from Super Metroid.

I like unpainted miniatures too ;)

If you do decide to strip the paint yourself, go with Simple Green. I got some Dettol from the UK but the Simple Green works great and is a lot easier to deal with.

Can you post some pics of the wizards if possible? I have some unpainted ones.

I guess only one of the wizards is actually painted, I thought that another one was. However, I also have an ogre and a man at arms that I would offer the same option. I have more, but they are damaged and I have to see if they can be undamaged sufficiently. Here are some photos.

They aren't works of art, but I think the wizard looks pretty nice and thought it would be a shame for me to just wash all that work away, at the very least it made sense to offer someone the chance to paint over it or save the time with priming for the other three(not much time I admit).

Just a heads up, I just had a vehicular emergency, so for sake of shipping costs it might be two weeks before I can send anything.

I would have no reservations about soaking those minis in a jar of Simple Green and taking a toothbrush to them.
