Bloodey awesome! That's just what i was after, it definitely has the hq look.

Im not 100% sure on how it works but probably if the wizard adopts the staff he'll get the storm spells as advanced air spells.

Using scanner:
Scan card at 600 dpi, excising non-image portions.

Using Photoshop:
Image > Mode > RGB Color
Filters > Noise > Reduce Noise (10, 0%, 0%, 0%, check)
Image > Adjustments > Threshold (use slider to preference)

Use the magic wand tool to select light areas, using as many various settings as it takes--Edit > Fill (the off-white Heroquest color--you can swatch it from the card templates). Invert the selection and then Edit > Fill (the brown Heroquest art color--you can swatch it from the card templates, too).
