To be honest it might cost a lot in ink and paper but not as much as buying a game (over 100 euros...) or event a single figurine which cost several euros each (not to mention expedition costs...)
Moreover, it's kind of fun to work on that project :D

It's a minicampaign for completely new heroes, right? Looks really nice!

For my feeling there are a little bit too few monsters around, but maybe that's just me. :)

Few monsters is perfect to introduce the game to children! I remember my 4 years old nephew wanted to play HQ with me because he was often seeing me handling miniatures and tiles, so one day I set up a board with a map on the fly but he was scared as he meet the first monster (a goblin) and asked me to play only with his hero and an empty dungeon. And when I sayd NO, that at least he had to try to attack, he didn't want to play anymore.

Maybe you should have told him that he has a mighty Hero and that the Goblin was puny and fragile? That his Hero would easily destroy that creature? You'd have to coax him into at least trying the waters, so he knows that he can handle such situations, bolstering his confidence.

This is great psychology. Even better, tell him that he is a mighty hero.

There are different squares.

22mm-25mm is about right, but the squares adjacent to walls are smaller and the ones in the middle of a room are bigger.
