*** SPOILER ALERT ***
The last 1/4 of this Quest was brutal - rolled skull after skull and black shield after black shield in the living fog room - the living fog room kind of reminded me of the shapeshifter from Kellar's Keep. GW+MB really wrote some cool stuff during their short and wonderful collaboration.
Though the two rooms between the living fog room and Kelvinos' chamber weren't particularly perilous, my Heroes were running on fumes by this point, having to a huddle after taking out the skeletons to figure out how to make it out alive. The Quest was long and it took us two sessions to complete.
The icy vault was pretty tough too - to risk losing 1 body point each turn in addition to fighting a Polar Warbear and a Yeti! Would've been nice if a Thief or a Dwarven Explorer could quietly duck in through the secret door, loot the chest, and slip out through the other secret door without being detected... Mercenary Scout maybe? "Burglar, DO YOUR BURGLING!"
Still, unlike quest 6, there's a way to avoid 11 rooms and still complete this mission! Maybe I should be searching perimeters before busting down doors??? nahhh! I hate leaving treasure on the table, plus, if Frozen Horror has taught (or traumatized) me to expect anything, it's running into wandering monsters and trap after trap by taking the halls. Best to slug it out through the rooms - I did avoid 2 out of 3 wandering monster tiles - that's 4 Yeti!
Played it with Barbarian, Dwarf, Elf, Wizard, a swordsman mercenary, a crossbowman mercenary, and a Dwarven Explorer.
