I'll re-run the playtest incorporating the changes, as I am worried about it becoming too hard. As always with solo quests, having too many monsters makes it impossible to complete, but I do think this quest can be improved on. Back to the drawing board!

Heroscribe is beyond me, unfortunately.
I actually enjoy hand-drawing, the only problem of course is when I want to change something

I’m going to need help when we get to the Heroscribe stage.

Those are great. Where are they from?
It's just given me an idea for quest 6 (in which the Dwarf leaves Runeport and attempts to catch up with these two).

I took the picture from A Fistful of Minis blog; they are painted by João Sousa and are Thieves from (of course... who else?) Citadel Miniatures, early 80s era (they have a solid metal base).

So I finally got round to editing Q4, the Dwarf quest.

- After further play-testing I decided to make the city guards defend on black shields. I didn't want to do it as I would like human characters to fit in with HQ men-at-arms and defend on white shields, but I found the solo dwarf was just dying really fast. On a few occasions the unarmed dwarf died whilst still in his prison cell! So black shields it is. I'm justifying by saying that city guards are usually not very well trained (like the gold-cloaks in GOT) and not up to the standard of Empire men-at-arms.
- I added a potion of strength to try and boost the Dwarf.
- Added another guard and a secret door to make the route more interesting/varied, as per Lestodante's suggestions.
- Also included location markers for the Cook and Sergeant-at-arms.

Q4 is now survivable, and in line with the previous 3.

I think Q4 is the most interesting, although my favourite character is the Wizard and the one I like less is the Dwarf!
Good that you change the way the guards defend to black shields. If now it's too easy the master can still add some extra guards here and there.
