I have those keywords in my spellbook and my potion collection.

BP, MP, AT, DE, Move, Action, Buff, Debuff.

Then I add the expansion and a number where appropriate, if it is possible to calculate an average ( Lightning Bolt has: WOM AT 2 BP ) and that's it. Nice filter I have there now.

Normally there are three to five words that fit.

You can attack mind points, for example, or buff the attack, add or remove from any of those stats in any number of ways...

Where does this word come from, "buff"? I've seen it often in gaming context but have no clue about it's roots. Dictionary says "polish"... ok, that fits...

Ok now, I would give him one destructive, one buff and one debuff spell. That should equip him for many situations.

Another idea I had for the Elf weapons: you can allow the Elf to be equipped with both BOW and SWORD (after he found it) or DAGGER but since the bow is a two-hands-weapon, the player will need to swap weapon when he prefer to use one or the other.
Weapon swap is always permitted and doesn't count as an action if there are no monsters.
But if there is at least one monster the player need to roll a die when he wish to equip the BOW: if a skull is rolled he swap succesfully and fast enough so he can also attack in the same turn.
If a shield is rolled instead he swap weapon anyway but not fast enough so he will miss his action for that turn. He must wait next turn to attack.
No weapon swap is allowed if a monster is adiacent.
I will make the die roll required only when he wish to equip the bow and not when he wish to use the sword because it is faster to unsheathe a sword than to take an arrow from the quill, charge the bow and shot.

Lestodante it’s like you read my mind about allowing a 4th Elf spell. The plan is that if the Hero can survive long enough to the end of the quest he’ll collect the magical sword Woe, which gives 2 dice in attack as well as the ability to have one more Elf spell.

I’ve actually been playtesting this quest today. It’s a tough one for sure, but survivable. I like it because it can be played differently each time, like Running the Guantlet. I tried a few spell combos. I completely agree about the spell Deep Sleep not being that great, especially in a solo quest with no allies to take advantage of the Sleep. The other spells worked pretty well when used in the right context.
I now definitely think a Healing Spell needs to be added to the Deck to be the ninth spell. With only 6BP, my poor Eildonas was quite susceptible to a run of poor dice rolls.

Artefact list for this pack is shown below. If someone fancies having a go at making cards for these that would be great - it would free me up to crack on with the Quests :D
I think the artefact cards from Running the Gauntlet & Growl of Thunder have already been done somewhere, but please bear in mind that the Wand of Galimateus and the Thunder God's Belt have changed a bit for this pack. The Wand of recall is of course a spell from the original game system. As always, feedback is most welcome on these artefacts.

Faustus
Two times per Quest, the Wizard may use this bat familiar to scout ahead. Faustus is small enough to squeeze through gaps in closed doorways. The Evil Wizard player must tell the Wizard player what is in the next room or around the next corridor corner, describing the monsters and furniture present, but not traps. If the Wizard is killed, Faustus is also lost.

Woe
This sword, carved from the wing case of a giant Night-Zacht and with a pommel of polished spider bone, thrums with elf magic. It allows you to roll two dice in attack, and an Elf who wields the sword may select 4 Elf spells instead of 3 from now on.

Harpoon of the Haldasir
The Harpoon can be used like a spear, allowing you to roll two combat dice in attack. It can be used diagonally or thrown. If it is thrown it is lost forever, but the target will automatically lose one Body Point from the attack. In addition the target of the thrown Harpoon will miss its next turn (it may still defend as usual).

Wand of Recall
The Wand of Recall allows you to cast two spells instead of one on your turn.

Wand of Galimatias
Immediately upon acquiring the Wand, the Wizard may regain all spells he has used so far in this quest. It also grants the wielder 2 extra Mind Points and the ability to select all four Elemental spell groups from now on.

Skullcleaver
This magical Axe allows you to roll 2 dice in attack. During the first round of combat against an opponent, you may re-roll any failed hits once.

Thunder God's Belt
This magical belt is one of three sacred treasures of the Barbarian Thunder God. A Hero wearing it may roll one additional die in defence.

Thunder God's Gloves
These magical gloves are one of three sacred treasures of the Barbarian Thunder God. A Hero wearing these may wield Thor's Hammer.

Hammer of Thor
This magical hammer is one of three sacred treasures of the Barbarian Thunder God. It can only be used by a Hero wearing the Thunder God's Gloves. Thor's Hammer allows you to roll three combat dice in attack. The Hammer can be thrown, in which case it will immediately return to the Hero's hands.

Talisman of Vigour
This beautiful Talisman is inset with magical gems and permanently grants the bearer one additional body point.

Cursed Sword
When this sword is taken up the iron serpent jaws engraved on its hilt will immediately clamp shut over the Hero's wrist. The sword allows you to roll two combat dice in attack but cannot be dropped, meaning that one hand will be permanently lost for all other uses.

Wraithweaver
This sword has been ensorcelled for use against Vampires. It allows the wielder to roll 3 combat dice in attack. If the target of the attack is a Vampire, each unsaved hit will be doubled to 2 lost Body Points.

Edit; Scrying Glass added
Scrying-Glass
This lens of green crystal will allow you to “see” magic as a flickering aura or nimbus, invisible to the naked eye. As an action, the Hero may search a room or corridor for magical traps that cannot normally be searched for, at the same same as searching for ordinary traps.

You reworked the Wand of Galimateus the way I like and as I wrongly interpreted it the first time I read it in the book. So it will grant the Wizard the chance to get all the 4 Elemental spells!
This was infact the same of the Elemental Staff I did some time ago (it was infact inspired by the Wand of Galimateous) and I guess the pic on the card can be reused for this purpose.
http://www.lestodante.com/hq/pics/eleme ... aff_sm.jpg

For the Elf curative spell I was thinking of allowing him to roll 1d6 and he will recover the same number of the roll (from 1 to 6 body points); so it will be different from the standard 4 BP.
And the name not so complicated, like the other 2 curative spells (Heal Body, Water of Healing) like Restore Wounds or similar.

As fot the 3 Thunder's God artifact should they be drawn being inspired by Thor from Marvel Comics? It's ok the hammer but for the belt I wanted to do something not to close to Thor.

I will need some help to imagine the WOE sword as I don't understand the description very well... what is a Night Zatch .. is it spelled correctly? Google doesn't help me.

The pic for the Elemental staff is great, so yes go with that please.

I like the rules for your Elf spell. Restore Wounds is fine, as it is different from the name of similar spells in different spell decks.

I don’t know the Marvel stuff very well. In any case I found the cards that have already been made for that quest viewtopic.php?p=15977#p15977 . I’m sure Goblin King and Sjeng won’t mind if we reuse the pics, unless of course you wanted to do your own versions?

I believe a giant Night-Zacht is something that Morris just made up. I imagine it to be a type of giant dragonfly, for sure it is an insect of some kind, because insects have wing-cases. The pommel is great because the animal it’s made from also appears as a monster in the same quest. How you would draw all that I’m not sure. As long as the hilt looks like bone of some kind and the blade looks “magical”, I’m sure it’ll be fine.

I will ask to my friend to draw some of them, then I will just do some editing.
As for the Thor's cards already existing, yes, I guess they are fine, I was not sure about the belt because of the female look

That’s what I like about it, she is super hot
Thanks for doing these cards Dante. Honestly, if you want to change the art for any of these and you have the time just go for it.

Is there any special description in the novels about any location where you find the artiacts?
For example, you find it laying on atomb or on a table, or on the floor or any special room description that can help to represent its card better?
