Encarmine (Hasbro's Chris Nadeau) announced on HeroQuestFans Discord that Avalon Hill will have a booth at this year's GenCon in August in Indianapolis, IN. He says they are interested in recruiting cosplayers to model costumes representing some new HeroQuest characters and they will be compensated with money needed to make their costumes.

Just wanted to pass that along!

Not meant to be advertising, but GenCon is a tabletop gaming convention that runs Aug 3-6th (registration is open this month through July I think, but check the website for details.

And no, I've never attended... it's a bit far for me and have you seen the prices of their press passes? Yeah... but who knows, if the right deal came along I might do something like that someday. I have a friend who talked about going...

That's pretty nifty. And also smart of AH marketing. I REALLY hope we see some pics from resulting participants.

Cool scoop, Kurgan.

Let's see, images of unreleased characters to Cosplay. If had been planning on attending, I'd be all over that, but two months to put a character together... along with everything going on the next couple of months that would be pushing it for me, I'm not particularly fast. But I'm still considering it.

We recommended about doing a LARP at GenCon or any Con last year for one of the quests, or even a quest created specifically for the con... Guess that left a tickle in the back of somebody's brain. Cosplaying a character is easier that setting up a LARP during that kind of an event. But then, it would be a great way to advertise a line of HeroQuest Nerf Weapons and armor.

The "Rise of the Dread Moon Prequel Quest" is all over the GenCon sessions schedule.

So the plans fell through, they didn't get volunteers. I saw several people they could have recruited at the show, both "western" and "eastern" monks. Oh well, maybe next time. At least "Uncle Zargon" was there. ;)
