Played today...

Postby cynthialee » November 12th, 2011, 11:39 pm

Today we played a full group of HQ.
I printed off some extras from this site and we had some fun with it.
First character chosen was the Elf. I had the Elf spells printed into cards so those spells were opted for. Next character chosen was the Master of Swords character in the Cards section of this site. Powerful character but the extra moxie was needed as there were 3 fimir spell casters in the dungeon. Next character chosen was the Ice Witch also in the extras on this site. Tough broad. She was pretty cool but not over powered at all. Then the Barbarian was chosen as the last character. Standard issue Barbarian so nothing to write home about. His high body points helped him allot.
They played the third quest in the quest manual the one were they gotta kill the Ork for Prince Magnus.
The second fimir in the quest they ran into almost killed the ice witch and the master of swords but they were lucky to have a potion and a heal spell left so that doom was avoided.
Ussually I take the time to stack the treasure deck so the deck doesnt hit them with a string of wandering monsters and haszards in a row. I forgot to do that and sure enough there was a rather nasty streak of wandering monsters and hazzards drawn in a row...
Anyways, they eventually killed the bad guy at the end of the quest and called it for the night.
2 of the players had never played HQ before and they were 12 year old girls so it took us about twice as long to play it out than it should have.

:)

I really enjoyed the player developed characters that I printed from this site. Especialy the Ice witch.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.
