play-by-post games

I have started a play-by-post quest of heroquest in the “play-by-post” section of this forum. The gameplay is kind of slow (depends from the posts you do) but it’s not a problem for me to have some space on a table for the board and upload some photos, and if many people could do this and run their own quests I am sure we could find some very good ideas and see beautiful miniatures. It can’t replace the original gameplay of having your friends around a table, but it is playable and in my opinion it has a lot of fun.

I want to hear your thoughts for my try and if it could be nice to have more play-by-post games.

Also the idea that everyone can play every hero no matter who had played him last round, helps a lot to have a faster game.

Have a try on my quest: http://www.yeoldeinn.com/hqforum/viewtopic.php?f=162&t=961

Have in mind that posts in play-by-post sections do not shown in the “show new posts” button’s results… So, you have to check for the new posts by doing refresh.

The game still running... whenever you will do new post/move I will continue... I remind you that even one player can play all the heroes if he wants to.

Help Daedalus with this game(http://www.yeoldeinn.com/hqforum/viewtopic.php?f=162&t=961&start=30)… It is not that hard as it seems. Choose a hero and say where you want to move him like N, N, E, W, S, where N=North, E=East, W=West, S=South… Check where the marine miniature points (he points to the north) and say your move, it is too easy. To learn how to roll the dices make some testing on the thread for testing dices (http://www.yeoldeinn.com/hqforum/viewtopic.php?f=162&t=474&start=10). Try it, with no problem if you do something wrong, I will help you to fix it.

I'd love to hop in - but I never know what my days and weeks are going to be like. There are times
when I don't get to post much for five days or so.
If that's not a problem, I'll jump in. I'll need help figuring out the dice rolling - tried it the other day
and it didn't work for me.

Patroclus' play-by-post game is a free for everyone game. You don't get one set hero. You stop by the forum when you can, see which hero still has a turn and play out a hero's movement and actions. Pretty much, the community plays all the heroes when they're on the forum and have time to play out a turn for a hero.

Exactly… Me against the community :P… The bad is that I don’t know very good English but I try my best (please correct me when you see grammar mistakes). Take a look at the game as it runs and don’t hesitate to jump in and give the next move for the character you like. You all can play. And even if you do something wrong, no problem, it is only a game. If the heroes die before finishing the quest I will post the adventure for those who want to play it for home. The quest has a lot of puzzles and I hope you will like it.

I want to remind you about my play by post game. It is still running and all the new forum members are welcome to jump in and give orders. You don't get one set hero. You stop by the forum when you can, see which hero still has a turn and play out a hero's movement and actions.

Don’t forget that the posts in play-by-post sections don’t appear in the “show new posts” button’s results... You have to go in the play-by-post section manually to check for new posts by doing refresh.

You just beat me to it. :p I was about to post a reminder that everyone is welcome to jump in the game and play a hero's turn at any time.

They will however, appear in the "view unread posts" link to the left of the "show new posts" link if there is a new post in the thread.
