Anti-Heroes

Postby ken » September 30th, 2011, 5:03 am

We read a lot about Heroes on the Forum, so how about some Anti-Heroes? I already have Baron Bones, he was once the great knight Sir Ragnar; but he took one chance too many. The evil forces stole his body from the tomb, and he metamorphosed into a flesh-less spell caster. I also have the Pistolero, Juan Sheet, the Juan Armed Bandit.
I propose that any Hero who goes down, in the literal sense, should not be re-incarnated, but should join the ranks of, The Anti-Heroes!!

Do they then join the forces of Zarquon?

Well, I must admit, this character had passed me by, but he certainly seems, after checking him out, as a prime candidate for the job. where do your deceased Heroes go Flesh, or don't you have any?

Dead is gone, for us; Boxcutter Steve wound up being tortured as an undead zombie squirming on a pike for a time until we put him out of his misery.
I would prefer to reanimate any fallen friends and send the zombie shuffling off to his family for some excitement and hilarity.

This character Zarquon is a bit close in name to the US Zargon, I feel. I found a better one, Orcus is the fictional demon prince, and lord of the undead.
Orcus was a god of the underworld, punisher of broken oaths in Italic and Roman mythology. As with Hades, the name of the god was also used for the underworld itself. In the later tradition, he was conflated with Dis Pater, who was the Roman equivalent of Pluto.
Orcus was portrayed in paintings in Etruscan tombs as a hairy, bearded giant. A temple to Orcus may have existed on the Palatine Hill in Rome. It is likely that he was transliterated from the Greek daemon Horkos, the personification of Oaths and a son of Eris.
“he was conflated”, does that mean he suffered with Flatulence?
All my Anti-Heroes will now join, “The Underlings of Orcus”.
