An official concept sketch of a Dwarf from the unreleased "Quest for the Dwarf" can be found here http://www.tocoking.be/ahq/unreleased.html.

Awsome stuff. Everybody on this forum should read your HeroQuest unreleased questpack information and see what the other Dwarf looks like. Keep on the Quest, Sir Taco!

Any chance you're willing to post here at the Inne about "what if" monsters and characters for the unreleased Wizard Quest Pack?

That was most informative. It does make you wonder "what might have been?"

One would also wonder if they would be as un-play-tested as the Elf and Barbarian Quests. Three Chaos Warriors as a wandering monster anyone?

Let's suppose the wizard has gone through the original quest pack. He would have had the
money to train (using my character advancement system) and he would now have roughly
18 spells. AND...let's use my expanded spell list...so he would have some excellent offensive
spells. And, he might have used a little bit of his money to train for an extra combat die.

I think he could take them. Give him the treasure from the original quest pack, KK, and
RoTWL - and he could definitely take them...no problem.

hahahaha

Pass Through Rock and Swift Wind. Get the flock outta there!

About the the concept sketch of the Dwarf: Is he wielding a warhammer or maul (D&D 2nd ed. reference)? I think a maul because he's using both hands and, well, it's huge! I also figure it goes well with the HQ look and needs representation in a homebrew Armory (and card). Should it have 3 or 4 attack dice? What special ability sets it apart from a Broadsword or Battle Axe, and what should its cost be?

@Anyone who said the Wizard can take 3 Chaos Warriors that he stumbled upon while searching for treasure: The main worry is that if the Wizard searches for treasure, each Chaos Warrior gets an attack against him, and if you are using the US rules the best defense roll a Wizard can get is 3 dice (without using Stone Skin or a Potion of Defense, which most don't make sure are active before searching for treasure). If we go only on statistics the Wizard would survive that (4 attack dice would show 2 skulls and 3 defense dice would show 1 shield). But then, who's turn is after the Wizard? Why it's the Evil Wizard's turn. And what does this mean? 3 more CW attacks just to make sure the Wizards body is missing an appendage or two long before his next turn. (And when was the last time statistics lasted for more than one roll?) When this happened to our Wizard he had to drink 2 potions of healing and burn his Water of Healing spell (we played that you can use a healing spell like a potion when dying due to loss of BP) just to survive to his next turn in which he did dispatch the one remaining CW with a Genie. (He has also Spell Ringed Water of Healing every Quest since. :) )

@Deadalus: For a Maul with a 4 combat dice attack I would suggest 400 gold and not useable by Elf or Wizard (2 hands, obviously) I would suggest making it a 5 combat dice attack, 600 Gold (maybe higher gold cost)and still no Elf or Wizard. But my opinion is that if a maul/war-hammer was included in the quest pack (and not just the cover art) it would be a Dwarf only Artifact and therefore wouldn't have to worry about balancing/differentiating from regular armory weapons.

When I play heroes, the Wizard never goes last. Usually second. Most of my groups play wizard as the third hero. There is a better chance of them killing one of the CWs. But most likely, the Wizard be dead.

Play the same situation with the Barbarian. He's gonna take some beatings and no one will risk searching for treasure for the rest of the Quest unless there's good evidence of noted loot. This will take its toll on potion inventory throughout the quest. Anything more than two goblins is just too much for WMs. Even a single CW is enough to deter most treasure searching. Heroes need to search for loot in order to survive all the quests. They should be encouraged to do so, not deterred. We want people to keep playing. Players who die often stop playing. I say no to multiple WMs beyond 2 goblins.
