Fake HeroQuest sites?

Postby SirRick » August 4th, 2026, 9:36 pm

I was looking at some online prices for various HeroQuest stuff, when I saw some results labeled as Hasbro Pulse, with prices that were insanely cheap. I opened one result, and it looks like the hasbro pulse site, but colors and other things were off. I’m pretty sure it was fake, so watch out if you are shopping online.

I then looked in my email and went to the real hasbro pulse site and tried search for heroquest that way, only to find…..nothing. If you try to search for heroquest in various spelling variations, nothing comes up. The Avalon Hill sight has nothing, you can seem to look up any products there.

So apparently you can’t buy this game from the source anymore? Has this been a thing for a while now? Or is this a recent development?

Yeah that fake clone of the HasbroPulse site confused me too at first. Beware!

Avalon Hill announced some time ago (May?) that a greater focus would be made on FLGS for their branded games. HasbroPulse won't be the go-to place anymore for buying HeroQuest. In fact, Wizards of Morcar wasn't even going to be sold through there at all. People got scared, but they said this was a deliberate strategy and it doesn't "hurt" Hasbro to buy it from other sellers, whether that means online or your local hobby store. So yes, go support local.

Now others have complained about this saying that many stores don't stock the newer stuff or have only one copy of things. Many stores can't afford to "keep up" with many releases and they have no idea what people want or their distributors (if that's the right word) don't get them everything when they want it. It's a big debacle even though it sounds like a good idea in principle. So your mileage may vary.

I'm guessing they're doing it to save money, but some regions and stores will have an easy time while other localities will have trouble or maybe not get it at all.

This just means it will be easier for scalpers to hoard available supplies and take advantage of people's desperation, that is, if they even know about all these products existing in the first place.

But that's the situation. For exact quotes and date stamps, visit the official Avalon Hill discord (the one with the white background and Red "A"; which is the opposite of the old AH discord that had a white "A" on a red background... that one is no longer maintained).
