This quest was situated before "First Light" and we used that set at GenCon, but that's about it.
The numbering of these "online quests" really has nothing really to do with the intended play order. Knightfall is a prequel to ROTDM, Into the Northlands a prequel to Frozen Horror, Forsaken Tunnels of Xor Xel a prequel to Kellar's Keep, New Beginnings a prequel to The Trial... and Rogar's Hall is also a prequel to The Trial. But as Doug has said, you play the quest books in any order you choose... these are just promo adventures to get people interested, or one-offs for added fun. Mostly he is all about a fresh party of heroes starting each book, so the prequel quest can serve as an opportunity to gain more gear a little easier than Quest 1, BUT it is not strictly necessary for the story or difficulty. That said of course "Into the Northlands" is kind of an invaluable PDF for Zargon since that quest pack as printed is kind of broken (ESPECIALLY if it's a brand new party).
Re:, the Trial... 1990, but yeah, 2nd Edition EU "The Trial" (created by Mike Gray, we have learned) only uses the Monster cards, so the only treasures found are the ones in the chests on that one. The NA edition (same year) had an Orc as Wandering Monster. Anyway, now we know for "Dread on the Horizon" what it was intended to be.
