I have posted this question on a few of the Heroquest Facebook groups, but as yet I don't have a clear answer. So I wanted to ask here too hoping that someone here could help me with sizing. I'm wanting to add bugbears to my QG heroquest game. But I don’t care for the bugbear mini's you get in the dragon strike board game. I found a bugbear mini I liked and with some Skeleton Archers I sent them to my 3D printer. But when he opened the bugbear file it came up pretty large. Now I'm scrambling to figure out what size (what height it should be) to tell the printer to print the bugbears so they blend in with the hero quest minis. I have gotten answers like 25 or 30 mm but that does not help me as I am a visual person. I did put this list together to see where the bugbear falls. So, the question is what other HQ mini would be their same height so I can print the bug bears to that size? If one of you guys can tell me from these measurements where the bugbear would fall in height that would be great. Someone said in one of the FB groups that they were close to orc height but I’m wondering if that’s not to short.

All these miniatures were measured from the top of their heads to the bottom of their feet (not bottom of base) unless specified.

Polar warebear was measured from the top of his shoulders to the bottom of his feet. 1 1/4 (1.25)
Frozen horror was measured from in between his horns, to measure from his head to his feet 1 5/32 (1.15625)

Sinestra was measured from the top of head had to her feet 1 3/16 (1.875) and also measured from her headdress 1 1/4 (1.25)

They are pretty big, so I would go for something the height of the Fimir or Frozen Horror.

The D&D boardgame has bugbears, fully compatible with the old HQ miniatures. They measure 33 mm in height, which is about the same as that of Sinestra.

Citadel/TSR AD&D range also had bugbears:

2nd Cornixt's statement that bugears would be Fimir height.

The AD&D 2nd edition Monsterous Compedium lists bugbears as seven feet tall.

General lore for D&D goblin-kin, which includes goblins, hobgoblins and bugbears (but not orcs) has goblins as the smallest, bugbears are the biggest with hobgoblins being about human sized.

On a side note, most original HeroQuest monsters stand bow-legged which puts their head lower than if they were standing straight-legged.
