Apologies if this was done before, but I have been looking to use this to make or source proxies for all of the named characters. So, here is what I found. If I missed anything, feel free to add to the list. Note, I added some characters that weren't named, but might use a proxy to stand out from the regular mini. Note, I have the quest number next to each figured

Ahem! I think you'll find her full name is ZORYANA WRETCHED CRONE OF THE DREAD FLAME! With no comma!

(The New Beginnings quest keeps repeating that whole phrase like it's been robotically added in with a global find-and-replace or a macro. )

I gather you're using the Hasbro remake as the basis of your list, but an interesting side note about Grak is that in the UK/European original version, he's an ordinary Orc leader. In the old North American version, and presumably the remake, he's described more like a shaman, with a staff and the ability to cast spells. They probably changed him in order to include the Wizard's Cloak as an artifact, and to make more use of the Chaos/Dread spells, which weren't in the EU version.

He's a Zombie in the old NA version (not sure about the remake). In the UK version his name was Karlen. I have no idea why the NA edition changed it to Wardoz, which sounds a lot sillier in my opinion.

There are also four Chaos/Dread Warriors made of stone in this quest.


In the 'Bastion of Chaos/Dread' quest, the unnamed Chaos/Dread Warrior in the main room is clearly important, as he has a magic sword (Orc's Bane). Might deserve a special mini.

How about the Guardian of Grin's Crag, the extra-powerful Gargoyle in the last KK quest? (You could cover that with an ordinary stone Gargoyle mini, of course.)

And let's not leave out the most awesomest of special HeroQuest monsters: THE SHAPE-SHIFTER! Ideally you should have a special mini for every monster it can turn into. Painted all black, with glowing red eyes.

There's also Graw (?) the friendly Goblin with Gargoyle stats. A bit odd, that one. (I prefer to assume he's a spy magically disguised as a Goblin.)

You might like to include the four Spirit Riders from 'The Cold Halls'. These gave us a good kicking when we first played that quest and I've always wanted to do special minis for them.

Also, there are some invulnerable Orc statues in one quest.

The Death Mist isn't a character but would be a good candidate for a model of some kind (a cloud of vapour, a bunch of translucent floating skulls, or whatever).


Finally, if you want to do some forward planning, the old Wizards of Morcar quest pack may be remade for the Hasbro version of HQ. If so then the four classic evil sorcerers will probably keep their old names:

Zanrath (High Mage of Sarako) - presumably he's one of the High Mages from Prophecy of Telor, except a) still alive and b) gone to the bad...
Fanrax the Malicious (Necromancer)
Boroush (Storm Master)
Grawshak (Orc Shaman)

Still not sure why Sir Ragnar is Manfred in the Italian version. Lol

Italian fans theorize it's because the word "Ragno" (close to Ragnar) means "Spider," which the translators didn't think sounded like a good name for a heroic character, so he was renamed. Of course they retain the rest of the EU storyline in ROTWL Epilogue...

Against the Ogre Hoard is missing Tograk

Frozen Horror is missing Vilor

Some of us had a wild theory, that maybe the "IP Crossover" would be a HeroScape "Battle Box" full of named character from HeroQuest. Seems like a good opportunity anyway... I guess we'll find out in the next few months or so if there's any truth to it.

I also realized Verag isn't listed for the Trial. He might just be a regular Gargoyle, but he is a named Character. You have the guardian of the Tomb, which is a beefed up Mummy, but it's not actually named.

I believe there's the Thing Below in the Foresaken Tunnels of Xor-Xel.
