Old dice vs. new dice

The original set seems quaint to me, being made of wood, but their curvature lends extra suspense to a roll, if they don't roll off the table, that is! :skull: :whiteshield: :blackshield:

The remake dice feel substantial in my hands, and the extra colors found in TFH, POT, and SQT are a welcome change.

In the end, I usually use the remake dice, though I did buy and have used a wooden set from Etsy to keep my original ones from getting worse.

I prefer the feel and sound of the wooden dice. Maybe it's just nostalgia talking, but maybe there's something else to it. Plastic just feels so cheap.

The plastic ones being heavier and more square-shaped are more likely to knock stuff over or dent the board, so you need a box or something to roll in. The wooden dice you can roll on the board if you want, but I still prefer a box or dice tray.
I’ve been using the plastic ones lately but, I might decide to use the other ones at some point.

I bought some extra plastic remake dice from Etsy and my group likes them. I was thinking of getting wooden dice too just for fun but don't want people thinking they give some kind of extra advantage because they are wooden and have rounded corners lol.

How are the etsy plastic dice compared to the remake dice? I was thinking of getting some red ones. They look great in the photos, but I don’t know what they are like.

They are pretty much the same as the FH dice but red. My group couldn't tell the difference. I did post a pic of them on here some time back. Don't seem to have it now though. Sorry.

IRL the red ones are lighter than the pictures (sort of like fruit punch) but I liked them.

I prefer the feel and sound of the wooden dice too.
Also I hate the squared shape of the new ones, they slide, don't roll!

I DID notice some marring of the old game board that I think came from the new dice, so I don't roll them on it anymore.

Has anyone tried using a mix of both types, or is that just too chaotic or potentially damaging to the wooden ones?
