I like playing the evil wizard (the position of the DM in most regular rpg's)

If I were to play a hero - I guess I'd like to play the elf - I always like the mix
of fighting and magic. That's if we're playing just the normal 4 heroes. If we're
using outside-created characters...I don't know...there are many good ones.

I made a druid that is pretty good...and I also made an alchemist. The alchemist
isn't really that great at fighting...but could prove very useful during quests by making
healing potions, or fire potions that can be thrown as weapons...those kinds of things.

It would also be neat to play a character that can build things...maybe like small impromptu
traps, if possible.

Cool, i play the elf. He can deal the damage aswell as helping people with spells. I always take water spells and leave offensive magic for the wizard.

Being the evil wizard is pretty cool, cuz the game is in ur controll.

When I used play i was young, i mean very young. But then we started playing again the christmas that has just gone. I am not completely sure who i used to be, but i think i was the dwarf and occasionally the barbarian, we didn't used to go by the book cuz our group were full of youngsters, so we used to switch characters.

Although I usually play as Zargon, I do have a soft spot for the Wizard and Dwarf. It could be because they never got their own quest pack. The Wizard is never viewed as the main character, but he does add a great deal of support to the other heroes with all his spells. But he's very limited in combat and has few attack spells. So he plays a big part in supporting the other heroes but very rarelygeys the killing blow in himself.
He does, however, make things more interesting with a variety of spells that change the complexion of the game.
Despite his shortcomings it's easy to see why the Wizard might be my favorite.

The Dwarf is very rarely ever anyone's favorite. With mind points rarely being of value, he's an underpowered Barbarian that can disarm traps. Although this is a very useful skill in the grand spectrum of things, most people would sooner choose to play the Barbarian over the Dwarf. It's been suggested elsewhere as a minor boost to the Dwarf, secret doors and traps should be counted as the same action. Although I like this idea, I can totally envision all the other heroes deferring those searches for the Dwarf... and if he does find a trap in this action all the other heroes would have to wait a turn for him to disarm the trap.

I agree with Wally, about the Dwarf. He's very charismatic figure but I also see him as a weaker Barbarian, especially in quests where mind points doesn't matter at all I prefer 1 more body point and 1 more attack dice!
My favourite characters are the Wizard (but needs some power up) and the Barbarian.

Zargon and then the Elf for the same reasons you do. I do enjoy playing homebrew heroes but that's a pretty recent thing.

I often end up playing Morcar - it's often the case that if you suggest a game, you end up organising and running it, and that automatically makes you the GM...

As a Hero, I will often be the Barbarian. I can play all the heroes, and even entire parties, but I find the Barbarian/Warrior mentality the easiest and most enjoyable to play. You are supposed to be aggressive, proactive, and a damage sponge for the party. When the party needs a leader, it often falls to the Barbarian, and I have no problem being the leader in any sort of game.

I’m almost always Zargon. If I play a Hero I really enjoy being the Wizard. It’s a lot harder to play and makes you think. I see too many Wizards not using their spells. When I play the Wizard I drain pretty much all of them by the end.

I usually play as Zargon, though one other player in our group has learned how to play him. So once in a while I can play a hero. Other than liking the wizard (earth spells are my fav.) I have been using the shape shifter hero I found on this site a while ago. All though I also let him change into man as well.

I agree that as a kid I didn't appreciate the Wizard enough, and they're all pretty good now. And yeah, you set it up, you end up being Zargon, but I'm okay with that most of the time. Still, it's nice to be on the other end too to see what somebody else comes up with!
