What character do you play?

I am just wondering if everyone play with 4 characters, or do they play with less or more than the original 4.
On Ye Olde Inn it sounds like there are quite alot of Morcar/Zargon players on here.
This is just a way of telling who is the most popular character, which I think at the moment is Barbarian, and who is the least popular, my opinion is that none of the heroes is unpopular but I think that u need all of the heroes.
My group play with 2 extras, being the Assassin and Warrior Priest.

When we started playing something that resembled HQ much more than what we play today, we used a Barb clone, a Necromancer instead of a wizard, the Dwarf, and the elf. Things quickly diverged from there...

It is my creation and he works very well. Sorry it's in french, but I will translate that to english soon (if someone interested by)
I play him actually, but I have always play with the dwarf before... It was my favourite Hero and he is always my favourite today.

Hero card, spells cards, other stuff...

Technically, you can use any number of Heroes. The Evil Wizard play will just have to increase/decrease the difficulty by adjusting the number of monsters, traps etc. More players, the slower the game goes. Less, the faster. If you play by the book, it's best to have four Heroes, but it can be played with less, it's just more challenging with three to damn near impossible with one.

When we play with more than four heroes, as DM, I introduce the Runes dice on the DM turn. This dice has three blank sides & three with a Rune symbal. Each of these runes bring a different powerful monster into play, ie, chaos warrior, firmir or mummy, really just to give the DM a bit more OOOMPH. The blanks bring nothing. This works well using the standard Quest books, after them, you are on your own!

Our group usually has 2-5 players and each of us plays 2 characters. We have 2 people that trade off being Zargon so the other can play. Here is the current list:
DWARVEN PALADIN - ELVEN DRUID - DWARVEN RUNEMASTER - HUMAN PALADIN
HUMAN VAMPIRE - DROW RANGER
HUMAN BARBARIAN - HUMAN EXECUTIONER
AMAZON WARRIOR - HUMAN BARBARIAN
HUMAN VAMPIRE - MINOTAUR BATTLEMASTER - PSIONIC ALCHEMIST
FAVORITE MONSTERS - ICE ELEMENTAL, ICE MEPHIT, TROGLODYTE CURSE CHANTER (SUMMONER)

I don't have any cards - rules - take your pick! I think you even posted interesting rules some time ago...
For me a Necro must be able to raise at least skeletons if not also zombies and mummies!
Some people also go the route of poison dagger abilities to make stronger and stronger poisons/toxins, although mine has nothing to do with that.
Necromancers always have some kind of provision for life steal; this is the definition of Necromancy, 'deathmagic'.
