Chaos Warrior old mini similar to HQ gets Life-giving Elixir

interesting. It appears that Games Workshop released a mini that looks like a 1980's metal classic citadel figure that the Chaos Warrior in HeroQuest was based on or very similar at least.

I might even have the original vintage mini. I would have to go through my chaos army to see. I bought many minis that I thought were similar or had the look of the HQ Chaos Warrior back in the day.
But yep, the original plastic HQ mini is still the best. I like this guy with two weapons though. Could be a leader figure.

I guess, because I know GW, that this miniature is totally outsized compared to the other minis.
That said, people who are working for GW are not living under stones. I guess. So good that they remember parts of their origins

I swear I've seen 3d prints of this all over the place. I figured it was just somebody's lame attempt to make the Chaos warrior seem cooler by giving him an axe in each hand, but I was wrong, it was based on an actual official figure. Wonders never cease!

Although I prefer this to the Hasbro Chaos Warriors. And seeing as it’s probably going to be outsized, like Anderas said, it could make a great replacement figure for the new game.

I’ve been building up my collection of classic minis and basing them on HQ bases. When I get them primed, I’ll start posting pictures. Waiting on an order of bases from Zealot right now.

I saw this guy hit the GW webstore in 2017 and this incarnation is already OOP (out of print). I recall that it was crazy expensive (like $40 for one tiny model!) and it may have been out of scale with all other chaos warriors. I believe that Chaos Wariors are still 28mm, even in the new sets... which makes them "normal humans" corrupted by chaos and not a corrupted "celestial" or whatever those giant gold armored Sigmar warriors are.
Rather than buy this guy, you can do any number of kit-bashes to arrive at a new incarnation of Slambo. Much cooler that way.
