The Ultimate Mystery

Postby CaptainNeatoman » October 24th, 2010, 3:20 pm

Alright, friends, I just saw an extra monster card backing I had printed up lying on the floor of my library, and it suddenly hit me that there's a really obvious question I've never heard anyone ask...

What the heck monster is that on the back of the monster cards? He doesn't look like anything in the game system or any of the expansions. Like a Yeti, but darker in color and with horns. And a huge nose. And lips. And ears.

Has anyone come up with an explanation for that thing? He seems to be the same monster depicted on the Wandering Monster Treasure cards, but again - doesn't match any actual monster in the game. I think we need to decide who this fellow is and find a way to finally give him his day in court.... or in the dungeon. What say ye?

As a wandering monster it looks alot like a Minotaur...with a tiny dog nose...

Ive been wondering that for the longest time! I say a minotaur. It's also on the wandering monster card...well, if someone wants to make a minotaur, use the wandering monster picture or the monster card-back picture. But then again, there is a mino card on agins inn..........
Check out my new character: Halfling! I promise you will consider using it!

Funny thing: I was looking at my Battle Masters figures (apparently everything BUT the figures were lost in my move somehow), and it looks a lot like the "Beastmen".

Hmm.. I just Googled Battle Masters Beastmen and I have to agree. Well found, joec. Can we convert those monsters for use in HQ?

The Battle Master miniatures a smaller than HQ ones and appear a little out of place on the board next to them. But with a little imagination, they work well enough. They fit into slotted bases and with some homebrew stats the characters themselves blend really well into the HQ fantasy world.
