The HeroQuest subtitle font

I've noticed that there's a font missing from the fonts pack, namely the subtitle font used on the main box and some of the expansions (I think only the US versions), which is Caxton SH ExtraBold:



Obviously the version used on the boxes has been edited for an eroded look. But remember this was back in the 80s, so there weren't the kind of digital fonts we have today. Most likely the eroded effect was added by hand (especially considering that it looks different on each letter - even the same letters in the same title have a different pattern to them.

I think you're on to something with the editing by hand. Even if it was prepared digitally it certainly looks like they didn't have a font that created the aged look. Certainly comparing some of the common letters you can tell that no two letters are the same - i.e. comparing each of the letter "Q"s they've all slightly different. Now somebody needs to come up with a Photoshop filter that will randomize the noise along the edges~

That kind of detail was done by running the text through a copy machine multiple times, copying the previous copy until the desired degradation was achieved.
