Anyone have a suggestion of where to go for printing a Quest Book as original quality?

The original game system/eqp/bqp were all poorly printed (probably ok for the day).

You could easily replicate it at home with a color inkjet printer and lightweight-standard (not bright) paper. Choose a booklet format PDF from the site, then just saddle staple and you're set.

For the *covers* of KK/RotWL, to make an exact match, you'd need a decent edge-edge color laser printer using a moderately heavy cardstock. Copyworks/Staples/etc. could do the trick easy.

For the EU versions you'd want to stick with the copyworks/staples for the whole thing. Choose a moderate weight glossy/slick paper (all b/w inside, full color outside) same paper throughout.

I haven't been too concerned about the Quest Books looking great or being replicas of the originals since the Heroes generally won't be seeing those. I want the cards, tiles, and monsters to be as close a match as possible, but the books are something I'll just print at home on a printer.

Since those don't seem to be very fancy, you could probably go to any old copy store and have them put together something similar.

I just have a black and white laser printer at home.

wich format is the USA layout questbook (it is not A4/A5)

Standard US Letter. 8.5"X11". It's folded in half.

If he's not interested in doing it at home he'll have to use a copy shop. It will look substantially better than the original if a inkjet is not used. I don't think I know any copyshops that use inkjet!

For the full-bleed covers, I'd be willing to bet that the originals used 11x13 paper, and then trimmed them. Getting that all to line up is a bitch, though, and the kind of thing that printers would make you pay for. I've had good luck getting the local UPS store to do that kind of stuff cheaply, though.
