Hi, I just received mage in the mirror expansion and would like to check a few things please.
Firstly I notice the quest book is not glossy like witchlord and kellars keep, is this right?
Also the tokens in the box are double sided, again, unlike KK and ROTWL.
I thank you in advance as I spent a fortune on this and would like to check they're not reprints, it was listed as complete and I'm already missing an elven archer and a portcullis card :/

Re. The portcullis card, on this site the tokens are printed on a single sheet showing both sides if the tokens are indeed two sided, the portcullis token on this image has four entries-is this two-double sided?or four tokens?, I received three, not four or two as I expected, if that makes sense

Can you post pics of the quest book? Sounds right though. Both the Elf and Barbarian expansions were US releases and some things are a bit different. Less GW and more MB. Is your game system quest book glossy?
The tiles should be double sided, there should be two elven archers and 4 portcullis.

The QuestBook is correct.
The US base system was the same style. They used a glossy card stock cover for RotWL and KK because of the crappy cutout artifact cards on the back.

Thanks guys, I figured the gloss was for the mission packs with artifacts to cut out. Also thank for ck firming I am indeed missing a portcullis card, do you know where I might pick up authentic replacements or good recasts for the missing bits?
Thanks
Jon

'Fraid not.
I never use the portculli from the Elf Quest any longer. It's not authentic, but if you just want something to use, the Twisting Catacombs porticulli are awesome. There's both open and closed versions.
However, I suspect you're a completionist, like me. In that case, it's less about something functional or better and more about....well I dunno what, but I totally understand that feeling, as I suffer with it too.
For the longest time there was a seller on ebay selling individual cardboard bits from the EQP for stupid/insulting amounts. While I'd personally rather shank the guy, he may be a reasonable option for you. This will be the hardest bit to find by itself.
If you're really willing to go to some trouble, you could take an image of the porticullis from here at the Inn and send it off to a company like print-play-games and have one made for yourself. I'd strongly recommend doing something more than just one item, otherwise it's pricy for just that.
The archer figures though, they come up regularly on ebay. I think the last one I saw sold for something in the area if $25. I'd keep an eye out on a daily basis and I suspect one will pop up in short order. If you are a Completionist, just avoid recasts. They won't fill that small hole in your soul.

You, sir, have me nailed in one! Hole in my soul indeed.
I'm trying not to care, which incidentally is easier with motm as the value doesn't decrease too much incomplete, but I guess I'm just kidding myself.
I do want the parts and Im guessing I can make do till one surfaces. The quest continues.
The guy was quite decent about it. I just need to figure oilhow much the whole affair is going to cost me so I can request some offer of compensation.
Thanks again
Jon
