Ye Olde Inn

We were deep in a game. The party had almost cleared the dungeon and then I saw our tiny wiener dog had escaped and was killing one of my chickens. Ruined a great game. After that the players lost interest and the game was over.
Stupid dog.

So we are going to have to rehome her. This is the 2nd chicken she has killed and the 3rd she attacked.
Hate to do it, but we are country folks and chickens are part of our way of life out here. I can't have a chicken killer around here.

Great game though. One of my home brew missions. They had to find and kill Bargle the Chaos warrior. Which they did first room of the dungeon. he was waiting for the party with 5 Goblins. Big fight. They clear the room and it is a simple cave. They eventually find the secret door and head into the dungeon. They encounter a couple of roaming Ork packs of 3 soldier, a few wandering snakes and eventually find a Lich. They slay the lich and go onward to find an Ork War Chief. 5 Attack, 4 Defend (Defend on White Shield) and 3 Goblins. Came with in a whisker of dropping both the Barbarian and the Dwarf. Just as they finish off the last Goblin is when the damn dog thing happened.

It was a good point to call the mission. They had killed Bargle, a Lich a War Chief and captured a magic catapult. The last room had the Evil Wizards current Avatar. He gets 2 spell per turn. Spell one was going to be summons orks (double strength) and spell 2 was going to be escape.
There was 200 gold in that room.

So angry at that dog. Ruined a good afternoon of gaming.

The highlight for me was when the Wizard cast Genie at a Goblin. I just slack jawed and picked up my defend dice.

they are tenacious and very much like a fox in many of their behaviors.

The only saving grace and the thing that kept her alive...she eats her kills. She wasn't killing for fun, but food. Partly my fault for putting her chubby butt on a diet. If she had killed for fun...we would have had her euthanized. But it was an instinct and food thing, so she gets to live.

Animals are only human, too.

The players were very surprised to find the quest objective on the first room of play. It threw them for a loop and left them questioning a bit.
Shortly after they had killed Bargle and the Goblins, Mentor contacts the Wizard and encourages them to just come back to the Kings Keep for wenches and mead. The Wizard gave him a dismissive "yeah, sure, sure" and broke contact.

Returning with a captured magic catapult and dead chaos warrior will please the King greatly, but Mentor is not pleased with his protégés at all...

If by "euthanized" you mean "taken to a shelter where her odds of adoption are slim in your region (because she's old, ugly, with health problems / bad hips, other behavior problems such as chewing furniture and crapping in the house, and EVERYONE has chickens) and therefore euthanized. Then I agree.

I can't agree with you on that one.
A dog that kills another pet or other chattel for fun is no better than a murderer in my book.
The only reason she has a reprieve is I argued for her to the other two people I live with over this very fact. Had she not eaten birds I would have taken her out back and shot her myself.
