Adding Players to the Basic Game

Okay so I just found HeroQuest at a thrift shop. It was a complete set although in rough shape. I want to play this with more players but can't find the expansions without selling my first born. What is the best way to add more players to the base game?

Thanks

Benton

Oh man... I always visit charity shops for retro board games. Only ever found Impact and Buccaneer, mega jealous.

The expansions don't add more players so not sure what you're referring to. If you wan't to add more players simply add any miniature to the Heroes side and copy the stats of an existing Hero. If you want to get creative just make sure the body and mind points add up to ten, split them as you see fit. If more than 4 Heroes are playing don't forget to add more Monsters. If you add too many players the game takes to long to rotate. We've used the Gargoyle and a Zombie as extra Heroes. For the Gargoyle I added the narrative that I'd cast a spell of life on the statue at the gate of the dungeon, bringing it to life to help in our Quest. It was funny when the zombie ended up with the spirit blade.

There is so much extra stuff here at the Inn you will likely never exhaust your HQ possibilities.
Check out the player developed characters, spells and equipment. Print them out and rock on!

I play using my atlantian character, and I am developing simple rules for an alchemist and a southlands savage. Although my ideas are for characters how wont be able to get as powerful as the original characters, but will have abilities that will last longer in a game, mainly to do the dark company quest in 1 sitting with a chance of winning.

You can print out the expansion material from this site. As for the figures, there are members that can provide you with fairly-priced recasts. Check out the Casting plastics and taking names thread in the Ye Old Market room. If that is too much for your budget, think proxy--there's lots of HQ-like figures out there.
