The Mystery of the Sorcerer's Table

Hi everyone,

I've been coming here for quite some time now, but this is my first post. A cry for help really...
I'm not sure if many among you are aware, but there's something odd about the Dutch release of Heroquest. For some reason, the Sorcerer's table does not come with a card wrap-around base like all the others. I only recently discovered that all the other releases seem to depict this piece of furniture with a distinct card base, similar to the one from the Alchemist's table, but it's not the same.
Now, while this may seem odd and hard to believe (why on earth would that bit be different?) I am 100% certain the Dutch Sorcerer's table does not come with a card base, as strange as that may sound... I admit to being something of a nutter and own 7 sets - all Dutch. They all have the same issue, so we can rule out coincidence, I guess.

Now, I was wondering if anyone around here would be so kind as to provide me with a scan of the folded-out card base from the Sorcerer's table, so I can copy it, print it and mount it onto card. Ideally, this would be a high-res scan of a perfect condition card, but I won't be too picky.

But fret not... there IS no such thing as a cardboard piece for the altar. Period.

In Wizards of Morcar's German edition there were 6 Swordsman cards, 6 Scout cards, 6 Crossbowman cards, and 5 Halberdier cards.
Wait, 5 Halberdier cards?! That's right, 5. And announced like that on the box back: 23 Henchmen cards.
A mistake, but at least they admitted it.
Oh, well...

Seriously, thanks for that. I have looked around on the web for a scan before now but never managed to stumble upon that site. And thanks for clearing up my confusion about the altar - I had no idea.

By the way, the Dutch version has the same cards issue as the German one. As you said, no biggie.

The Sorcerer's Table insert is the Alchemist's Bench insert, but upside-down and without a portion cropped off.

Exactly. You can judge from the shadows that it's upside down. And of course the ... what'sitsname? ... pedestal being at the top.

That's REAL cool, Nightelf! Thanx a billion for the DL link! Now - how do I cut'n'fold the candelabras?

1. Cut roughly a square around it.
2. Roll it.
3. Do what thou wilt shall be the first and only law.

Seriously now:
1. Take a toothpick and cut it down to the length you want the candelabras to have from the bottom of the stand to the tip of the flame.
2. Roll piece A around a toothpick at least roughly in the middle.
3. Cut out the four pieces of B individually.
4. Fold them all (90 degrees between the image halves).
5. Glue the four pieces together in a cross shape (when seen from above) around one end of the toothpick.
The little image next to A indicates that step.
6. Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 for C.
In between all those steps you might have to decide if you want to trim down the middle part wrapped around the toothpick or if the top and bottom part should overlap with the middle part. You can then further trim down the toothpick.

I hope my description is comprehensible, but basically the icon next to A shows you how it's done when you know the central dot is a toothpick seen from above.
