RIP, Stuff

So this week saw my beginnings as the evil wizard player against my seven year old daughter, and six year old niece and nephew (from two different siblings). This resulted in three calamities:

First Calamity: My female elf hero had her sword snapped off, immediately followed by her body above her ankles.

Second Calamity: My female barbarian hero had her sword hand broken off.

Third, and Most Severe Calamity: My four-year old niece was spinning around in a desk chair and wound up knocking my paint water over onto my work table. I did not find out she did this for two hours. On that table were the following items; only even there because I had been working on customizing them: ALL MY GODDAMN CARDBOARD FURNITURE INSERTS, INCLUDING THE SUPRPLUS; every Kellar's Keep tile that I had just printed off to incorporate into my newest modular tiling scheme; MY RULE BOOK THAT I PAID TEN BUCKS TO HAVE PRINTED OUT FROM OFF OF THE INTERNET AT A PRINT SHOP, 14 YEARS AGO; my wizard hero plank.

All-in-all, a crappy day.

Man...I am so very sorry to hear about all that. Probably handled it better than I would have, from
the way you explained things. There would have been much screaming and growling on my part,
and much crying and running away on their part, if that had happened to me.
My heart goes out to you on that one.

I think he's only so calm because this is some kind of confession.
Obviously he murdered the children and is now waiting for the police to knock on his door...

And as if broken minis wasn't bad enough... It just HAD to be the two of the most rare and expensive in the whole game!
(I thought I heard a painful psychic scream earlier...)

But think about the polices. They will probably start crying when they hear that the kids ruined his HERO QUEST stuff. :(

But seriosly what a day, Sorry for all that. I imagine no more kids at game.

I grieve for you losses man, but come on, I don't want to play the blame game but this is totally 100% completely your fault.
Ok the figures snapping maybe you couldn't predict (although probably you can easily repair them) but the business with the work table?
You should have that room locked up or at least remove any dangerous stuff such as a water pot.

by the way, how much water does your water pot hold? I use a regular plastic drinking cup, I fill it at 2/3 so about 200ml of water.
I've never knocked it over, however, as I keep my tea cup nearby, I sometimes dip my paintbrush in my tea instead of the water pot.

I live in a large house with my wife, son, daughter; my older brother--his wife, his two daughters; my younger brother, his wife, his two sons and best of all, my mother. At the end of the Bush-era the economy essentially collapsed and I lost my house and my older brother was going to lose his, so we doubled up. And then, our younger brother got discharged from the army for his having the highest category of PTSD, and moved in because he's too crazy to do anything.

In summary, there is no place safe from grabby child claws. One of my regular players moved to South Korea; my other regular had his girlfriend go nuts and run off to freaking Queensland--she just got back and they're dealing with that crap. My last player is my sister-in-law, and she got bored of HQ. So, if I want to play, I have to use the rats. Only, from now on, they can use piece-of-crap D&D miniatures.

Take a piece of paper and cut it in a 25 mm square. Write B, E, D and W on them.

"This is no fun, playing with a piece of paper instead of those cool figures!"
"Well, guess whose fault that is."
