Hero Classes

I was wondering if anyone knew what the extra hero classes were in the video game Legacy of Soracil.

I'm considering proving extra hero classes (because I might have a fifth hero in the campaign I'm soon starting) and wanted to provide extra classes for the players to choose from... but I wanted the classes to have roots in original HeroQuest. I know I saw the classes mentioned somewhere, but I can't seem to find it again.

Do these new classes (Mystic, Cleric, Paladin, Adventurer, Ranger) have any basis in Advanced HeroQuest or WarhammerQuest (or regular ol' Warhammer)? I'd want to make their abilities and such as authentic to the GW world as possible.

Also, I don't see Elf or Dwarf on that list... so I assume "Ranger" is the same as "Elf" and "Fighter" is the same as "Dwarf"?

The fighter is the dwarf and the adventurer is the elf - they went with making all classes actual classes and not races.
The rest is made up entirely for this game. We even got beholders in the game which is definitely not warhammer!

Ah, in that case I think I'll jut be adding stuff that is Warhammer universe. Can anyone tell me if the class "Cleric" and "Ranger" exist in Warhammer? Or know of any online resources for Warhammer like we have here for HeroQuest?

EDIT: I was able to discover that Warhammer doen't really have anything like an actual Cleric or Priest, but instead a "Warrior Priest" which is almost more like what I would call a paladin. So I've created a character card based on that.

But now I'm trying to figure out what to do for my second (and final) extra class. I want to do something like a rogue/ranger/thief sort of thing, but I'm having difficulty finding precedence for that in Warhammer-land.

A ranger definitely exists as we have the elf ranger from warhammer quest:

The official warhammer quest classes are:
Barbarian
Wizard
Dwarf
Elf
Pit Fighter
Warrior Priest
Imperial Noble
Elf Ranger
Dwarf Trollslayer
Chaos Warrior
Wardancer
Witch Hunter
Bretonnian Knight

Assassins exist too. We have the dark elf and skaven variety. Woodelves have waywatchers. Can't think of any imperial assassins though...
What the Empire does have is witch hunters and engineers. Even a halfling thief, though that one is a Mordheim special character...

Advanced Heroquest offers some Hero Quest tie-ins in it's rules and also in the White Dwarf Quest, the Halls of Durrag-Dol. Kili Thekkrson, a Trollslayer, was worked up in that Quest for both rules. You won't find either in the Inn files, unfortunately. as AHQ isn't covered here and the third page of the Quest with the HQ Kili conversion is missing (that page is mostly AHQ stuff). I'd reccommend checking out this thread concerning Kili, as the original version has some criticisms: http://www.yeoldeinn.com/hqforum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1495. Sjeng even made a cool card:

Here's the original page:

Blackthorn also came up with a Crossbowman Hero based off of the US Mercenary:

Thank for the awesome replies, guys! Such a wealth of information!

My aim is to make sure the extra two classes are:
1) something the oft-used term "Hero" would apply to (this leaves out things like Assassins and Thief, I think)
2) different enough from the original four main Heroes that they would be an interesting alternative
3) not overpowered

The ranger Goblin-King shows is very interesting, but when I think of a ranger, I usually think of something more like an archer/hunter. I haven't played much AHQ or WHQ or any Warhammer at all. Or even any D&D, so maybe my understanding of a Ranger is completely off, but the figure shown looks like an Elf swordsman or something, and looking up his stats, he just sort of seems like a heightened version of the Elf warrior from HQ, so I don't think I'll go with that.

The Halfling Thief is tempting because it's so different from the other four Heroes and could have some unique skills and provide some additional strategy to the game... but I'm not sure a "thief" can be a hero, and I really don't understand what he's doing on the Empire side of things in Warhammer.

That Crossbowman is pretty interesting. But I feel like he's slightly bland. Maybe if I gave him the additional skills that a thief would have but not call him a thief, but an Archer or something? Like he could roll an extra red dice for movement and can also... do something else? I'm not sure what.

For my first extra class I wanted to do something like a white mage/cleric/priest. But I found out there was no "cleric" in Warhammer terminology (none that I could find). Not even just a simple "Priest". The closest thing I could find was a "Warrior Priest"... which I'm not so keen on. Sounds a bit like a Paladin. But I don't want to ignore Warhammer universe precedent, so I made up a character card for him:

I really wish I could just call him a priest, though. And take away his hammer. :P Oh well.

Actually, maybe I'm wrong. This website http://warhammeronline.wikia.com/wiki/Colleges_of_Magic mentions that in the College of Light Magic, they are called White Wizards/Hierophants/Clerics... is that enough precedence, do you think, to call the class "Cleric" and give him a staff instead of a warhammer? Even though I can't find any other site that claims such a class exists in the Warhammer world?
