Gold Coins Reward System

Hello everybody, I'm new here.
First of all, let me say that I am Brazilian and recently got the game again. I started playing from the beginning (again) with some friends who had never played and I'm slowly getting the expansions. Surely you have seen the Brazilian version is terrible, with paper miniatures, so I bought the UK. Anyway, let me come to the point.
I want to share a very simple system that I "developed" yesterday, during a game. We're playng the quests of the game system and, to encourage the heros to fight with the monsters (instead of run or ignore them), I create gold coins rewards, like a video game RPG game. The values were as follows:
Goblin - 1 GC
Orc - 2 GC
Skeleton - 3 MO
Zombie - 5 GC
Fimir - 6 GC
Mummy - 8 GC
Chaos Warrior - 10 GC
Gargoyle - 25 GC
Like I said, pretty simple, but I want to know if someone did something like that before.

Hi, and welcome to yeoldeinn!
Yes, I've seen people doing this, here at the inn and at OldScratch, though I can't name them.
The Japanese game system even officially gives "kill rewards".
Myself, I use a whole different treasure search and monetary reward system which I'm currently revising.
Have fun playing!

I tried the reward system once, didn't work cause people got distracted, always wanted to make the last hit to the chaos warrior, ignoring other monsters. Also it was hard keeping track sometimes.
Anyway, if you are going to use it, at least change the skeleton/orc reward. A skeleton can't worth more than an orc, skeletons are weaker.
Welcome to the Inn!

That's exactly the reason I don't use kill rewards.

Truth! I'll change the orc with the skeleton.
Maybe it's possible create a different system, for example throw a dice when defeat someone and, according the result, win or not a item or some amount of gold coins.

I like the idea of some sort of reward system, and gold coins would be best, since they can be used to
buy stuff. This is especially nice if you take the time to expand the items players can buy and use - there
are numerous expansions for weapons/armor/equipment/etc. here on the inn.
One suggestion I might make - to keep everyone from trying to be the last to make a hit on something,
simply split the reward among all those involved in a combat. Say the dwarf and wizard are in one room,
fighting creatures, and the barbarian and the elf are in another, doing something. The dwarf and the
wizard could split whatever the reward is equally since they were the only ones involved. If the elf
comes in late, perhaps give him 1/3 of the share.
Yes - it takes a little bit of calculation, but makes it more equal and encourages better play. Remember...
the heroes are supposed to be working together as a team, not trying to outdo each other (except, perhaps,
in role-playing terms, where they coax one another on over who can kill more goblins).

What I don't like about such a system is that it discourages just running past monsters. It slows down the game.
You stand at the stairs, but instead of completing the quest you decide to stay and kill those 2 orcs a while back.

A simple system, just whipped up by me:
When a hero defeats a monster, he may roll a combat die and a red die simultaneously.
A

on the comabt die means the monster had money on it. The red die tells you how much.
You can use a d20 or other dice to determine the sum of a chaos warrior'sor a character's possessions.
But I think there has to be some danger, else the Heroes are going to risk their lives as described by Tasoe.
So, if a

is rolled when determining if the monster has any money on it, a wandering monster comes along.
#The wandering monster is of the same type as the defeated monster.

But, as said before, I'm with Tasoe and Goblin-King on this, and won't use any such systems.
