Can you search for pit traps right infront of doors? Like when you search a corridor and you are near a door does it search the tile infrot of the door.

You have to be in the room in question to search for a trap. Thus the traps right on the other side of a door are the most insideous as you can not search for them.

Shhh! Are you mad?! Don't let this on to the heroes about the forums. There goes one of my simple joys when tortur- GM'ing a session.

I allow searches of the space on the other side of the door if no monsters are present. The rules don't allow for it though.

I also employ von necron's method for trap searching

Same here, but only if a hero is standing in front of the opened door, no monsters are present, and only the 1 square behind the door.

I've been doing much the same the last few years.
