No way! Barbarian is the king!
More Hp and better starting weapon! He has the best chance of surviving the early quests!
And that's important if you want to complete all quest without dying!

I simply like diversity. The elf has pretty much the most diverse abilities (seconded by the dwarf).
If the original HQ rules had some special things for the barbarian/warrior type - I'd probably choose
that, because I do like combat-oriented characters quite a bit.

I like the Elf. (not that I have ever played him as I have always been the evil Sorceress)

The Elf gets alot of grief in my HQ games. The Orks will always take the Elf as the prefered target if they see him. I will have an ork run past Another hero just to get at the Elf.
So it is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you can win a hundred battles without a single loss.
If you only know yourself, but not your opponent, you may win or may lose.
If you know neither yourself nor your enemy, you will always endanger yourself.

You're all nuts!

The best team player in the Hero Group is of course the Dwarf! He selflessly removes allt traps between the heroes and their objective, so that everyone can focus on killing monsters without getting harmed on the way.

Clearly the best character to choose.

If know one is going to speak up for the wizard let me just say?
1.whos always there to heal you?
2. Who's always ontop of ranged attacks maybe not a crossbow but he's definatly the knife collector?
3. Who's always sliding in to get those diagonal attacks to eliminate pests?
4. Who's selflessly casting enchantments on everybody so they can take the glory?
5. Who's always being chased by baddies because he's only got 4 body points?
6.who's mind does Zargon always fail to control?
7. And who when needed can bring down hell on there opponents?

The noble Wizard.
