:) I never claimed it wasn't a direct rebuttal, of course it was. This is what I posted.

hate to do it, but gonna take GB side on this.

I know y'all don't like him, but do you have to take every chance to argue with him...?

That's cause you're on the same level here, oh expert on men. |_P
His rebuttal of Anderas' post used namecalling, and later he admitted that it was indeed a rebuttal,
which makes the namecalling personal.
That makes his rebuttal an attempt to pick a fight.
Did you even read the posts in question?
Next time I'll just shut the fraggle up and let others deal with it.
I'm not man enough, anyway, it seems.

Every chance to argue with him?? Anderas can't make a post about ANYTHING without GB making a spiteful response to try to stir things up. Go back and read the post that started this and you'll see that GB decided to make a flaming comment toward Anderas, who said absolutely nothing to GB or in reference to GB. Also go back and read the topics where GB did the EXACT same thing just to start an argument. You will also see where Anderas pretty much tries to ignore GB and move on with the discussions, but GB will comment on almost everything Anderas says. That doesn't make him a man, that makes him a child who needs to grow up. Considering this stemmed from GB not being allowed to use his homemade characters in Anderas' games and that Anderas made comments about GB's cards that GB didn't like, that only aids my argument above (GB's words from the last time he did this right before he got banned). GB also stated that he would only stop when Anderas stopped posting. So what part of that makes him a man? The fact that because he's mad at someone, they are no longer allowed to say anything in the forums without receiving a rage post in response? Or the fact that GB is the one that takes every chance he can get to start an argument. FYI, the last time there was an argument going on that was of this proportion, GB was one of the two people involved. I was on his side on that last one, but at what point do you have to look at what the common factor is in the forum arguments? If there really is a large group that doesn't like him, maybe there's a reason for that.

Provocation such as suggesting a marriage that didn't last between a couple of fictional characters, neither of which are ones you created or had anything to do with their creation? We get it. You're still mad at him. Ignore his posts. You've been back for what? Less than a week? You've already resumed the exact same behavior that got you banned to begin with. Move on and stop living in the past.

KK must be psychic! Either that or he knows how to read posts. Because I am pissed. I'm tired of reading topics only to see you are trying to reduce them to an elementary playground fight. The month you were banned was peaceful. I didn't have to worry about reading a topic and wondering at what point was it going to turn into a provocation for a fight.

Re: [Poll] Morcar vs Zargon : fight !

Postby QorDaq » April 24th, 2016, 1:21 pm

So, of course, I voted Zargon (and established such when I registered with the forum), based purely on the fact that at the time that I discovered HQ (ca. 1990), I had no knowledge of the Warhammer connection. I was already well aware of Games Workshop as a publisher, but mostly from the Citadel minis perspective, and later from the WH40K stuff. I knew about other specialty games like Blood Bowl and so on, but it was not until Warhammer Quest that I started to understand that the game was not just a Milton Bradley fluke...Heh.

Anyway, do I have a point? Well, possibly. In an abstract way I'd argue that as much as any sword and sorcery fantasy setting owes a debt to Tolkien through Dungeons and Dragons, Tolkien frequently referenced how different peoples will have differing names for the same figureheads that appear within their various mythos.

Thus, if we are, by the act of playing games like HQ, effectively retelling mythic tales, even acting them out, we can safely reference the version of a given character within that mythos by the culturally relevant history that we were taught. Literally, in this case, we have direct evidence to support that the characters are one in the same and that-that personality is referred by one name in one area and by another in others. So, because I was initially ONLY aware of the Zargon personification of the EWP, I am comfortable using that name, while recognizing that they are known by (an)other name(s) elsewhere.

In this way neither name particularly stands out above the other to me, but I will say that when I hear/ read the name Morcar I don't automatically translate it to Zargon. Instead I have a brief internal referencing that results in "That's what the rest of the World calls Zargon"... If that makes any sense...*Chuckle*...

I guess this all really amounts to my brain defaulting to Zargon.

Now for the humorous bit... In my D&D campaigns back in the day (early 80s when I DMd a lot), I had a character, an NPC that is, who was of dubious allegiance, but was a frequent contact for my PCs... Sometimes helping, sometimes distracting them, and occasionally (and apparently) betraying them... He was called Grimple Stoutfeller... He was a mage, and the party would never quite know if he was a villain or not, but he always paid well and usually seemed to ultimately work towards the common good.. Though sometimes just barely.

Anyway, I think "Mentor" ended up being called Grimple from the very first game of HQ we played. Even when I did on occasion read directly from the quest text in the book, I'd substitute Mentor for Grimple, and since we would RP our between quest visits to town, I'd occasionally drop clues and hints that would suggest that Zargon might in fact actually be Grimple... heh
maj! = Klingon word for "Good". Used in the context of "I approve".
